I'm personally ok with people not accepting my religion, even if i feel pain in knowing they won't be in heaven with me, but why must some others be so negative? You call us bigots and racists but are you also doing the same thing that you have critzed us for, not accepting others. I understand some follwers of my faith can be...enrgenic in their evanglisim but that gives no one the right to come abck at us with demeaning terms.

Some of you are obviously ticked off by my choice of wording. if this is true then just disregard my personal beliefs for the moment and answer the question without telling me i'm an idiot and i'd appericate it.

Perhaps the anger comes from unpleasant personal experiences with christians.
Most of these angry atheists probably grew up in devoutly christian families where their parents forced christian religion on them against their will.
And the impression of christianity they got from their parents colors their view of all christians.

like with every other group of people there are christians that try to shove their religion down the throats of others. Those same fanatics seem to get it into their brians that they need to "save' that person.
On the same note some atheists don't have the common sense to just walk away or tell the person to knock it off and are just as bad.
Personally when approached by an "energetic" christian that is determined to "save" me and did not back off when I asked them too I too will be demeaning, then explain that because it is so necessary for them to insult me I feel I must openly insult them.
If a Christian lets me have my beliefs and doesn't get pushy I could talk about theology, their religion beliefs all day. Here's the kicker, I actually respect them too. Its really a give and take.

they think we are Jesus freaks and no bodies, they blaspheme the lord God and don,t care really about anything but spreading that i don't believe crap everywhere, as far as I'm concerned they are doing just what old slew foot Satan wants them to do and that not to believe that there is a God. I can assure that ever Satan believe in God , he has seen God and was threw out of heaven .. and he knows in the future he will be cast into and eternal hell to be tormented forever and forever, All the Atheist think that just rotting in the grown is all there is to life , no hereafter no hope ..no God .They just are not going to believe in anything and this is a true fact to the lot of them...

I think some are just angry people.
However, some are probably justifiably irritated by the tendency among Christians and other religious denominations to bossiness and self-righteousness.
It was not so long ago that it was impossible to buy condoms in Ireland, because of the Roman Catholic church's influence.

Given the history of Christianity do you really have to ask why some people NOT JUST ATHEISTS hate Christianity? I hate Islam too! Just look at the crap they do and ask yourself is that positive or negative?
It's kinda like their God. Look at the crap he has done. Is that positive or negative? If you think Murder, Rape, Incest, Lying is positive then you are truly SICK!

Honey, do you really HEAR yourself? The line about not being happy cause we won't be in heaven with you. Honestly, how is that different than someone saying "It sucks that the guy I follow is putting you in the Twin Towers and sending you to a firey death, but why must you take it so personally?"

I am not angry at all Christians. Most of my family and many of my friends are Christians and I love them very much.
However, there are Christians who are cruel and vindictive, who send hate-email to me and others I am friends with, who attempt to force changes to the laws of my country to fit with their particular religion, who try to control what other people's children can learn in school, who employ the "turn or burn" method of evangelism, who ruin other cultures under the guise of "mission work," etc. ad infinitum. THOSE Christians are the ones that I get angry with, and I feel justified in my anger.

at christmas time, it seems as though other religions are not as important, because everything is so christmas oriented, i can tell what ur thinking, but look at it from the other people's point of view too, at christmas time all religions do not seem equal at all! there's billions of christmas adds everywhere and it is very hard to explain to little kids who are not christian why santa does not come to their house, see what i mean, they here so much of it from school, TV and they don't understand and it makes them feel left out. same thing for atheists, they feel unequal.

2 - Attacks on separation of Church and State
3 - Overemphasis on Hell and Damnation
4 - Implication in oppression of Jews, Homosexuals, aboriginal peoples and women.
5 - Opposition to anaesthetics and anti-biotics
6 - Emphasis on faith over reason
Also, atheists in the English speaking world consistently show higher rates of anti-racist, and philo-semitic sentiment.

um. take a look at the world around you. In such a place it seems it would be pretty easy to be tense and unknowningly hypocritical. im not saying that makes it right. but hey, this is the kind of hole we live in today.
