Just remember that servants are not always servants against their will. Many people understand the term slave as servitude against one's will but God gives us free will to choose. Don't knock it till you truly tried it.

The short, direct answer is Yes, I am a slave of the Lord.
In ancient Isreal, a man could sell himself and his family into slavery for a time if he fell poverty and could not care for his and his family's needs otherwise. This was not a permanent condition since the Hebrew slave was to be released in the seventh year of his servitude or in the Jubilee year, depending upon which came first. During the time of his servitude the Hebrew slave was to be treated as a hired laborer.. (Exodus 21:2; Leviticus 25:10; Deuteronomy 15:12)
When granting a Hebrew slave his freedom, the master was to give him a gift to assist him in getting a good start as a freedman. (Deuteronomy 15:13-15) The Hebrew slave could choose to remain with his master. His ear would then be pierced with an awl to indicate that he would continue in servitude to time indefinite.—(Exodus 21:2-6; Deuteronomy 15:16, 17.) This is where true Christians come in. We have chosen to remain in servitude to our kind and loving master

A slave, sure. In the Bible the people are often referred to as servants.

Just go to www.biblegateway.com and look up the word "servant"...you will find tons of references to God's people being called servants. And... when you believe in a God like Him, you WANT to serve him.

And, I hardly feel worthy to be a slave of a righteous, holy God.

Yes it does!

Haven't you read the bible? It is written very clearly
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price
&
1 Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

That's right be the slave of God! But delude yourself into thinking you have freewill. Freewill to be a slave!
WHO WOULD SAY OH YES PLEASE MAKE ME A SLAVE?

Lord means Master

to be a slave is a choice

the Jewish person that wanted to stay a slave-after 7 years it was automatic freedom-bored a hole in his ear meaning that one chose to be a slave to his master for life

we should chose to be slaves to Jesus-he gives total peace and joy and rest and play

I am a Jew that repented of sin and got born again=John 3 now Jesus is my best friend-works great for me

Yep,

it is like either your a slave to God or your a slave to your own mind. And typically the physcial mind has a tendancy toward:
Greed, selfishness, lust, many undesirables.

We are servant's of our Lord.

Jesus came to Serve, NOT to be Served.

Being a servant of the Lord is not a burden, it's a pleasure to serve our Father.

We are children of God.

Who or what are you a slave to??????

I am Gods Girl. I am all his. I am not a slave, because I dont have to serve. I choose it. I am his servant. I can leave when i choose. But I choose to remain. =]

kinda yeah, a servant. but also our king. subjects of a king would refer to him as "m'lord". it's the same way for us :)
peace

-edit-
yeah. they don't refer to the king by "m'lord" anymore but they used too. the bible was written about two thousand years ago. people so often forget the time things were written during. it's sad.

God isn't our lord. God is like a parent or a friend. God is all knowing, all powerful, and is infinite.

God wants us to spend time with it through prayar, meditation and service to others.
