Where does all that dignity go when ladies are in clubs dancing and doing immature things to attract men towards them?

My pastor (1st Baptist) shocked everyone in church Sunday by getting up behind the pulpit, before the hymns and everything and stated,
"I have grown to love every one of you over the years, but in a two-year re-evaluation of Christianity, I cannot preach to you in good conscience about something I no longer believe. Prepare yourselves, we are entering a new and exciting age of possibility. I have reviewed the evidence fairly and am forced to find another foundation for faith."

and then he said, "God bless you all!"

Needlessto say, the church was in shock, the Pastor went home and moved his stuff out with a U-Haul and the Associate Pastor gave an off-the -cuff sermon in his stead!

My dad (a Deacon) talked with Dr. Jenkins and came home saying that Dr. Jenkins had been involved with a Christian debating team, and the outcome of 2yrs of heavy research has proven that Christianity is indefensible as a means of faith!

He's going to go to Medical School!

She said the bible is HOLY and it should be reserved for bedtime reading, when we are less vulnerable to temptations and sins. That was almost 15 yrs ago, a bookworm kid who ran out of books and thought the bible might be available to read....What is your arguments on this?

When you look in the mirror and say 'there is no god'; do you feel like you are lying to yourself or are not totally "convinced" of what you are saying?

It seems like it is always Jesus this and Allah that. But mostly Jesus.I often wonder why I never see any Torah based questions or religous questions based on the Jewish faith.I have seen questions about Buddah and the Hindu gods and religion and a few questions about Wiccan's come up and other pagan beliefs and a lot of questions are based on Atheism versus faith and science versus creation. But all most never do I hear a word about Judaism. Why is that?

I was thinking of proposing to our local church to have a Sunday Fried Chicken Pic-Nic and play the banjo for them darlings so they can feel JESUS and The Holy Ghost flying around as we sing and stomp in Joy. We can drink the blood of jesus and eat white crackers and have a baptism afterwards for the lord. What is another good idear?

Do like Bible aids that have the questions already in them or do you like daily devotionals that get you thinking your own questions?

Nowadays, its hard to even find someone to dump 12 barrels of water on the sacrifice.

Let alone, actually getting God to devour it with fire!

Seems God must of took a vacation from the miracle business. Or perhaps he went on vacation. Guess them there was the golden years. Back in his prime.

Like the country song says, back in my prime!

They were saying that they interact with Jesus on a daily basis.

Now, I understand how reading about a person, especially a person's poetry and teachings, can make you feel that you know that person intimately.

But how can they believe that Jesus is alive and communicating with them? Isn't that a psychological neurosis?

If someone told me that Walt Whitman was alive ad that he still speaks today through prayer energy, and that this was a religion, I can see how people (being the way they are) might believe it! Especially if Walt Whitman's story was compelling and what he spoke was "great" in my estimation.

But don't these people who claim to "know" Jesus understand this? Can't they imagine that it's a simple delusion, nursed by fundamental insecurities of meaning and perpetuation?

Why do men need to believe myth?

Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23, Number 445:
Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak:

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever commits suicide with piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell Fire." Narrated Jundab the Prophet said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My follower has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him."

So, technicly the suicide bombers are blowing themselves up in Hell over and over again eh?

Imagine what 1/2 a grain can move! Or 1/4! Even 1/100!

I bet 1/1,000,000 would be more than enough to move a house, even!

So why don't I ever see mountains flying over my head, being cast into the sea? I prayed for it to happen, had faith, but it didn't budge!

Liar, liar, pants on fire? Bible said it, I believed it, but not no more!

I grew up in a Full Gospel/Pentecostal style church, where we had lively praise and worship. I got saved and baptized at a very young age.

To be honest, I'm just tired of it. Ireally haven't changed all that much. I've studied the Bible through five times (we study through it once a year)

I'm not really much of a sinner, don't drink, smoke, curse or hate or fool around... It's just not my personality. I'm a relatively simple guy..

But I'm tired of believing in the Bible. I just feel silly, believing all those stories and miracles. Something deep inside me feels like a hypocrite when I feel like I just have better sense than that, you know?

So I want to experience other religions, like Buddhism or something. Some of my Christian acquaintances have all but black-balled me!!

What's wrong with looking somewhere else when what you have been doing just doesn't work anymore?!?

I'm just not satisfied with Christianity and my imaginary and pressured relationship with Jesus.

That bothers me because basically what they are telling me is that they are going to use me as a means to continue their own delusional state of mind by talking to thin air about someone whom they have never met while on their knee's in their pajamas doing so because they believe that someone, perhaps you or me, needs guidance or help from some Deity that exists in their own self created belief system based on some book and some clergy preaching.Something about that is just creepy.Anyone else bothered by that?

I am more than just fond of sound... The mystical properties or rather the trinity of the physics of sounds can be symbolized by Brahma (source), Shiva (transmittance, force), Kali (form, destruction of force). Sound is one of the many ways in which humans experience frequencies (sinusoidal wands/waves), which includes light... but with light, we can only perceive one octave, where with sound we can perceive ten! Ten is a valuable number mystically... coorelation leads to revelation.
Sounds trigger memories very effectively (hence their strong motivator of emotions in films, etcetera).

One drawback to my idea... for the deaf, they are a bit left out... so I need to work on this idea abit.

what say you on the subject of 'sound'?

Expecially yanks. Not all but most. They have to be the most abnoxious people in the world, so full of pride. No wonder the world is against them, and God is turning away from America too. How obvious it that. And Australia is going through the worst drought ever, and it is their fault. Why are these two countries up themselves.America think that they are the superpower still, but not for long. Other countries will outdo America and bring her down. I have been to America 3 times now and each time they have been so arogant. Aussies are not much better. Israel seems to be the only country full of compassion and yet are being harrased by everybody. Sorry Yanks, but most of your people have too much pride, and God will turn away from America the way it is going. You even want to take In God we trust of your curentcey. How Godly is that?I get on here and most of the rude disgusting comments comes from Americans. Go figure.America will not even stick up for Israel and attack Iran,

If I believed in somebody named, Melvin, the Terminator, because I had a book that claimed Melvin was real and that I had to believe in him, and that Melvin was from a square planet 100 miles from Earth, called, "Kolob,"and I felt Melvin's presence in my life.....

IF I say that I believe this, that's cool. But what if someone came up and showed me that, in fact, there are no planets in existence that are: 1. Named Kolob 2. Square 3. 100 miles from Earth.

Should I:
a. Believe in Melvin nomatter what...?
b. Use reason and stop believing in Melvin?

Most Christians, even though Christianity has been disproven with 1,832 irrefutable facts, still claim that they will believe it - nomatter what!

Should people who believe like this, be sterilized, or straight-jacketed or institutionalized?

Wouldn't that protect sane society?
