I've heard people say this is possible.
I asked this last week in another section. Only one person said it is possible. Wondering what y'all think?

Actually he commanded it

"Thus says the Lord: 'I will bring evil upon you out of your own house. I will take your wives (plural) while you live to see it, and will give them to your neighbor. He shall lie with your wives in broad daylight. You have done this deed in secret, but I will bring it about in the presence of all Israel, and with the sun looking down.'"
Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." Nathan answered David: "The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. But since you have utterly spurned the Lord by this deed, the child born to you must surely die." (The child dies seven days later.) 2 Samuel 12:11-14 NAB

"The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be conceived. Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from you. It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone. I have watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Ty

When he was telling us it was our duty to beat our slaves(!), why didn't he mention robots in the future? Surley they could take the place of slaves and al his 'children' could live happily ever after?

Seems a bit at odds with his supposed omnipotency!

PS, yes I am a commited athiest and I think the religious should be commited.

Peace!

Me and my mate Dave are thinking of joining a religion this summer. The thing is, each religion swares blindly that theirs is the righteous one. This clearly presents Dave and I with the dilemma of which to choose. I mean, they all certainly offer an enriched life for their followers, a moral framework from which to live by and guaranteed access to paradise which is desirable. So what do we do? We've tried everything from reading books to talking to people, goodness, we've even tried 'following our hearts' but we're still at a loss. So, which religion offers the best value for money? Or should we just forget the whole thing?

If Earth was perfect, & God knew that Adam & Eve could not possibly be smarter than Satan,

Then why was not Satan cast immediately into hell after his fall from heaven?

Man would never have fallen, all would always be perfect, & there would be no problems.

Satan allowed to land on a perfect Earth with God on it? And to destroy Adam & Eve?

Why wasn't God defending the Earth from Satan so the dinosaur of intelligence doesn't deceive mere man with his lies?

Smart thinking? Allow sin in heaven too? Goodness, maybe if God never allowed Satan to land on Earth in the first place, he wouldn't have to worry about them being deceived, or tricked.

Seems this was really God's fault? Pair smart Adam against the most powerful super-intelligence in the universe on the evil side? Guess who knows more?

I am looking to purchase a SCC CD. I don't know much about his music, but I really like the songs that I have heard on the radio (like Dive and Live out Loud). Can anyone recommend an album that has a good mix of hits on it?

Thanks!

If mediums and clairvoyants can see the future or see things that others can't, how come they can't see lottery numbers and win competitions all the time? Why can't they tell you anything about your future. Most mediums etc, just tell you about YOU and tell you about your family. I already know all that, why can't they tell me something I DON'T know??? This is what makes me think it's a load of rubbish!

until they have the experience, maturity and knowledge to choose one or none for themselves? At the very least I would counsel that they be exposed to as many religions/faiths as possible.

Like the Jesuits say, "give me the boy and I will give you the man". Is it fair to stamp your idea of the 'correct' religion on a young mind that has no defense or idea of alternatives?

As an example, many christians who claim they were once atheists but 'saw the light' and became christians (CS Lewis springs to mind) turn out, on closer examination, to have been raised in a christian family in the first place. In that context, it is not so much 'seeing the light' as it is falling back on previous patterns that were established when the mind was still young and impressionable.
