read the question, i wanted to know how he knew what all the animals looked like, so he would know when to up anchor, not what he was going to do with them later !

It's a fable. He could not possibly have got together every species of animal. How indeed would he transport elephants or even tigers from India and Africa?
After the 'floods' there were only Noah and his wife supposedly left on earth, in other words we all stem from those two. How on earth then can we be Chinese, Black, Indian, white etc etc.....it's a story

yeah, I don't know how anyone with self-respect can take this story seriously, it baffles me! He must have had a hell of a time tracking down all those different species of bugs, and everything else. And then building an ark that could contain them all and support their weight? and just in case it isn't all ready unbelievable, they decided to make noah live to be what, 900? A Whoa!

Ask your Minister or priest. They should have the right answer.
But there has to be more than 2 to repopulate, or you end up with inbreeding, and that can cause deformaties, so I think there's a glitch in the ark story.

When it came time for those animals to get on board, God knew how to speak to them. When they all was on, God shut the door to the ark. noah did not shut it.

It's a story..it's not meant to be taken literally,anyhow if you read Genesis it does n't say 2 animals of each...get it right!!!

why don't you READ IT!!!! there were seven pairs each of the clean and two pairs each of the unclean and it was GOD who brought the animals in and also who told Noah when he was to enter the ark so the GOD could close the door. READ and educate yourself.

Actually, according to the Word of Yahweh (Bible), Noah being a religious man; knew the laws given to Moses by Yahweh.
Therefore, according to the Word of Yahweh, he (Noah) had Two (2) of every UNCLEAN animal and Seven (7) of every CLEAN one. So, that once the Ark landed, Noah and his family could build an altar and sacrifice to Yahweh, again according to the His (Yahweh's) Word.
And finally, you are forgetting that Yahweh was the one who SENT to animals to Noah -- Noah did not have to GO GET THEM or GATHER THEM.
