October 24, 2003— Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) researchers have discovered that clays may have been the catalysts that spurred the spontaneous assembly of fatty acids into the small sacs that ultimately evolved into the first living cells.

Blah blah blah, first cells could catalyst from earth, also the fact that we're carbon based lifeform.

So, when the book says Adam was created from dust, do you take it literally or metaphorically from this?

Animals don't feel guilt over their actions. Nor do they conceive of god.

if there are any modern Muslims married to 9-year old girl lately? If there's none, do this mean Muslims implicitly disapprove Muhammed's conduct or simply don't wish to antagonize sensitive view of major faiths?

Muslims who are "peaceful", where is your "holy land"?

Did you have to make another one to shed the shame and barbarity of the one that spawned your religion?

Can it be that a different belief relationship leads you to convert to other person's point of view even if you had broke up with the person and not with the person years after the relationship ...u become then convinced of what the other person was telling you and then you convert willingly ? how do you feel when that happen ..? would you then feel a kind of regret that u didn't understand before ...? or a shame that what you have rejected in the past , you now have accepted it ....? have someone been there ?

Someone said we unbelievers don't understand Christianity being a 'personal relationship' with Jesus. And I don't.

So is this something only some Christians have? I have Christian friends and they never phrase it like this. And what about 'religion'. I've read answers that say Christianity isn't a religion. This doesn't make sense to me! Do you mean the 'rules', church, belief in the Bible are all irrelevant?

And how personal is personal? Do you chat? Share ideas? Or is it just you feel that somehow you are supported in your life's decisions?

Tell me more! And please make it 'personal', not 'Read the Bible" or "it says here.." unless it really helps explain. Thanks.

What a grand purpose we have. God is like Bf Skinner, he uses some cheap positive (heaven) and negative (hell) reinforcement tools to get us to pass his little exams.

Will God give a person with a failing grade the chance to say "wtf...you knew I wouldn't pass...you sick b&$#!...just know I won't blame satan for the torture in hell you created for me in advance"

Although I have had a very bad childhood, I have become very spiritual after I enlisted in the U.S. Army. I spend a lot of time reading scriptures and learning wisdom from older people to become wiser and smarter.

However, I still have that fire in me from my bad childhood experiences. I can snap out very easily and I can become a wild beast. Does this mean that I am very egoistic when I am not motivated in any way to look better than you.

I usually snap out and feel very violent when someone shows a great amount of disrespect to me or anyone who does not deserve it.

Ok, religeon... fun topic it seems. I'm just curious as to what I should call myself because I honestly don't know.

I used to be an atheist but over the last few years I've seemed to think that there must be something... its probably just superstition but coincidences that work out too perfectly, not to mention the perfection of the machine that is Nature. Its just too perfect to be random...

I was raised Christian (Protestant), and I go to church on occasion with my mother just to make her happy... I don't care to discuss religeion as I live in the bible belt and I HATE the self-righteous bible-thumpers so I just stay out of it.

So, I believe in a higher, unknown force that drives the universe... and after that I just don't know. So does that make me an agnostic or just spiritual or what?

I'm just curious as to what I should call myself...
