From a friend:

"Living and Dying

If I live my life with meaning,
My legacy outlives my breath.

If I live my life with integrity.
My words have true meaning.

If I live my life with strong character,
My example is my greatest teaching.

If I live my life with inconditional love,
My message is to love always.

If I live my life with courage,
My inevitable journey to death will be fearless. Love...Joe"

"Can you live life to the fullest if you are afraid to "die"?"

no.. because then you would be living in fear.

It's hard for me to reason why people fear death. Do you? I think we limit our risk taking physically and emotionally moreso because of a fear of pain than of death. Many people appear to live full lives even though they carry with them the fear of dying and what lies beyond. I tend to think, though, that a freedom from this fear would lead to a much fuller life experience, more exhilarating situations and more opportunities for real gratifying occurrences. Love is a grand example. How many miss the chance for a truly deep soul love because they fear the risk of emotional pain that resembles death?
