You have to first refine the statements to something that actually have substance. Many statement arguments are powerful emotionally, but are really meaningless. They'll have terms that are really vague or the claims such that you can't really determine if they are right or wrong, even theorectically. For those types of arguments, you just have to say that there is no criteria for truth there.

If the statements are well defined and actually say something that is testable, then you can weigh evidence against them. Though even with evidence, you only have more of an idea of what is more likely true. New evidence may cause you to change or refine what you think is more likely true.

You have to sort out the "proven" facts from all of the statements and arguments and then you can assume that this is the truth.

Arguments not based on proven facts are bound to fail.

Icarus is correct.
There are 4 situations here.

1. A and B are true.
2. A is true and B is false.
3. A is false and B is true.
4. A and B are false.

Until A and B are proven true, you can logically assume 4.
