It seems like it is always Jesus this and Allah that. But mostly Jesus.I often wonder why I never see any Torah based questions or religous questions based on the Jewish faith.I have seen questions about Buddah and the Hindu gods and religion and a few questions about Wiccan's come up and other pagan beliefs and a lot of questions are based on Atheism versus faith and science versus creation. But all most never do I hear a word about Judaism. Why is that?

Jews just don't do proselyting. It's not our way, never has been, and we know full well how annoying it is.

Part of it is critical mass. I wouldn't bother asking questions about Judaism because there aren't that many knowledgeable answerers. So rather than put up with all of the random anti-Semitism, I'll just find another source for the information.

The other part of it is that people seem to ask Jewish questions primarily on Shabbat. When the only Jews around are the not-exactly-observant ones like me.

The vast majority of Jews who would have a detailed knowledge of their religion, and the faith necessary to present it accurately without trying to reconcile it with various trendy ideas, do not use the Internet because their biggest Rabbis, called the Gedolei HaDor, have forbidden its recreational use, or its use for business without what is called a 'heter.'

a 'heter' is written permission from a legal decisor, called a posek, which gives the reason they are the exception to the general rule that Internet is a danger to the spiritual well being of a Jew. Generally it will include under what circumstances the persons personal exemption applies, Yahoo Answers probably not being a common one.

On Answers, Jews answer political questions more than Torah questions, because most Jews are unfamiliar in any detailed way with Judaism the religion and see themselves as an ethnicity defined by the political movement Zionism. Type in something insulting about Israeli war crimes and you'll see about 8 Jews pop up in 45 minutes, and your question erased.

not heaven and hell yet somewhat - Eden and Sheol. i assume an identical user-friendly myths with editions. whilst the Messiah will come there'll be resurrection of the ineffective... the skeletons will upward push from the graves and could recuperate their flesh and pores and skin etc. As a toddler, I continuously replaced into involved by using this concept. I asked my mothers and fathers constantly, the place will all those human beings stay? Will the international be sufficiently massive for every physique and all those previous human beings? Will I meet sort David? Will the undesirable human beings upward push as properly? As an person, I cherish my Jewish background yet i've got self assurance that as quickly as someone dies... he purely dies. No Heave/Eden, no Hell/Sheol and no growing to be of the ineffective. And the Jewish Bible isn't comparable to the Christian OT. It has another books which at the instant are not lined interior the OT. The order of the books is diverse. Even the ten commandments has differences - the 1st 2 commandments of the Jewish bible are the 1st commandment of the OT and on the tip of the OT - there is yet another distinction. I undergo in concepts the 1st time I appeared at a bible in a hotel room i replaced into so marvel to ensure those differences. I continuously assumed that they are an identical. they don't seem to be!

No idea. Maybe some Jews have better things to do or they don't feel like defending their religion over & over again. It's hard to say. You don't see a ton of Buddhists on here either. A few questions here & there but, not as many as Christians or Muslims.

Actually, if it were not for Judaism; Christianity would not exist. The whole Bible is filled with Jewish traditions, customs, and history of the people.

Jesus (Yeshua) and all of His disciples were Jewish; they NEVER gave up being a Jew. The name 'Christian' was given to them in Antioch.

That is why Christians, stand firm with Israel; because Yahweh (God) said "anyone who is curses Israel, I will curse and all who bless Israel, I will bless".

A faith based on anything other than the promise of Yahweh's grace in Yeshua, does not and will not save anyone; no matter how sincere that faith might be.

Because I get my answers about my religion from my rabbi, not Yahoo answers.

Also, I often am requried to defend myself and I don't think that is neccessary to do to strangers online.

Because thirteen million Jews make up 0.25% of the world population.

But if I convert, Yahoo! Answers will be one Jew richer. ;-)
