Have you ever considered that? Someone told me it was "God's Word". But when pressed, they had no way to verify exactly how, when or in what fashion God had contacted these ancient writers.

What exactly do we know about the writers of the Bible? What was their aim, purpose and agenda?

And, I do mean *all* that is good. I've heard people thank this god for their pets' health, etc.

Why does this deity receive so much credit, but zero blame? After all, he's omnipotent, right?

Why well he be accepting no more redemption's after he returns? It seems to me that would be the perfect time to get lots of redemption's? It sounds as if he values faith more than truth?

God's word, that is what it is presented as.

Now, who else understands that it was written by the hand of MAN?

How do I curb my temper, as I have a very nasty bite when people pi** me of. Don't tell me about do see a shrink or anything like that, been there done that.Chrisitans how do you handle assholes and atheists how do you handle assholses.? Are we just to sit back and take other peoples s**t or bite back? How can you ignore hatefull people? I would rather put them back in their box where they belong than to get hurt, as I have taken all I can take for almost 38 years, first from my old man, kids at school ect. You come to a point in you life where enough is enough. So I am curious to find out how you handle people in this hell of a life. I believe this life is hell. Do you agree?I cann't understand how people can sit back and let people abuse them for nothing. Is it wrong to stick up for yourself and make yourself known?

Should my Christian mom still be afraid of things like the water?

You shouldn't have any fears, if your love is perfect, should you?

I keep hearing these Xtians blabbing about "Jesus is coming" and I should "repent" (whatever that means, not like I did anything wrong).

Anyhow, suppose this Jesus fellow shows up, what then?

This is going to sound a little silly, but I want to be correct. When I am writing about atheists, do I capitalize the word as you do with Christian, Muslim, Wiccan, or Buddhist? Or do I leave it lower case (I guess the matter is, do you consider atheism to be a religion or an absence of religion)

Thanks guys

I fell for a guy and he was a jehovah witness and I guess I never understood what their rules are, or their doctrine. Can anyone explain to me, like what they are permitted to do or not to do? I'm just curious.

Thanks!

He was pressured to join it. Lots of the people in the church was looking at him and waiting for him to say yes. But he actually do not want to join.

He said yes for the sake of not wasting their efforts to make people join Christianity. He is expected to go for a baptist or something ceremony next week. Should he go? He really do not want to join.

okay: Ever since I can remember, my mom has recounted conversations she's had with Jesus/God. She is not a condemning person--she tends to be open minded and she is always helps others..

Anyway-- I don't think she is crazy. But I don't believe in God. I tend to be logical and a caring/sometimes intervening God doesn't make sense.

What would you think if you were in my position? I say I'm agnostic--- If I were to say I was atheist, that would be like calling my mom crazy! What do you think? How can I rationalize what my mom says?
