There is no physical description of Christ which to me is the equivalent of putting x0 at the end of a long math equation.
It is completely impossible both then and now that any writer would not physically describe the person they were writing about
I have a copy of the Odyssey by Homer which of course pre-dates the Bible by at least 600 years and Homer's descriptions of people and places are rich and vivid.
That is what one would expect from both an oral tradition and a written tradition But in the case of the Bible that never happens.
Why not ? Even if Christ was such a minor person in the world in which he supposedly lived , that nobody took the time to , draw or paint or sculpt him you would figure that his friends would have described him if for no other reason than to make him believable and interesting to others. You almost expect that description to be exagerrrated and super -heroic and yet no description exists I find that to be impossible.
What makes it even more impossible is the actual world that he supposedly lived in .
Both the Greeks and Romans were superb artists and had no difficulty at all accuratley representing the human form in a variety of mediums.
I know what Plato & Socrates looked like but not Christ . Why not ?

i don't believe the bible becuases of the following :
"

Even one of their own Prophets has said, "Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons." This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth. (Titus 1:12-14)

One of the interesting things is that Paul quote the Epimenides' Paradox, specifying that the speaker himself was a Cretan. "Cretans are always liars..." he then says that the man himself spoke the truth. But when the statement is spoken by a Cretan it is definitely not true. If it was true then at least once, a Cretan was not a liar, in which case the statement is false. The conclusion is the denial of the assumption, so the statement is not true. The writer Paul at least on this occasion, was without Divine Guidance for he did not discern the subtlety. (The other one being 1 Corinthians 7:25)."

I'm agnostic. I believe in the Bible as it is a book, it exists, I even have a copy of it. I believe many of the teachings in it are good. Like so many other religions it teaches us to love and care for ourselves and each others.

I don't, however, believe that it is possible to truly know whether any gods of any religions exist. In the simplest terms I believe this because we cannot possibly know that which is beyond our level of comprehension. I would think that to claim true knowledge of a god is to claim to have the same intellectual capacity of that god.

I do not believe the name a religion gives its god is of any significance. I do not believe that the way a religion defines what may come after death is of any importance. I do believe that, no matter what a person believes on any spiritual level, it is important that we all strive to be kind to, respectful of, and care for each other. We may have our gods in an after life but, right now, all we have is each other, regardless of theology, geography, or ethnicity.

the whole Garden of Eden story is just strange. woman is created from man's rib for his pleasure. doesn't that bother you at all? all the predatory animals eating plants? this makes no sense whatsoever. Even an intelligent design proponent would agree lions were designed to eat meat.
Then the idea that Satan tricked people into sinning by offering knowledge. that is very possibly the most dangeous concept in the Bible.

Logic.

When you compare the history and stories of the bible, with archeological evidence, the bible comes up short. Logically, since the bible fails to be accurate on these facts, it must be inaccurate on other things...which leads to the logical conclusion that the whole damn thing is wrong...

Logic.

As we all know,Jesus existence was proven, so the only reason He died on the cross was either because He's lying, He's deluded, or He's telling the truth.

I dont believe someone capable of such teachings that even his enemies were dumbfounded several times, will die for a lie. its not smart at all.

also, there're the things that're proven by historical findings, such as the armors beneath the Red Sea talked about in the book Moses written, and the flood that covered the earth.

Jesus has also fulfilled all the prophecies about Himself, from His birth to His death, i mean, King David already prophesised about His arrival thousands of years ago. what else must you doubt?

then again, there're people who say you cant prove someone that long ago existed, yet they believe that people of that era or even earlier like King Julius existed, without doubt.

When your heart is closed, you'll do selective reasoning with double standards.

Despite all that reasoning, i still had doubt. yet i took a small step and He took many steps to me, i truly felt Him in my life. thats why i believe.

To Tammy, God did not snap his fingers. In the beginning God created the Heaven and Earth. Approximately 750 Billion years. The sixth period God created Man and animals. Approximately 225 Million years.
Now to the question. I believe in the Bible because of are history and how it makes sense to me and there are pictures and burial grounds and books that prove it to me. You are not bigger than your history read up on it.

#1 reason: That which makes Christianity essentially Christian -- the crucifixion of Christ. The concept of another person dying for you might fill some people with joy, but I fail to see how telling a someone that they are responsible for an innocent man being humiliated, tortured, and killed, is anything but sick.
