I do not agree that this life is hell, unless you make it hellish.
I do believe this is a fallen world and that there is plenty of ill will being spread around.
We as Christians are not supposed to be the ones doing that. As for curbing your temper... your first responsibility is to God and obeying His word.
Most of your posts would suggest that you struggle with that concept.
God's love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, His righteousness, Holiness, and judgment are His to mete out. It is not your responsibility. Let Him do His job, and you just concentrate on living in His grace, full of gratitude for what He has done for all the world.

I used to be full of venom too... then I left Christianity. Such peace! No, I don't agree about life being hell; life is what you make it.
Honestly though, if someone attacks me I do not turn the other cheek.

You bring up alot of issues in this post. First off, you admit that you have a bad temper. How does that improve your walk with Christ? If someone called you some name, and you respond with hate to them, how does that help the situation? It doesn't really do anything to the other person. Your anger will only end up hurting YOU. It's not going to hurt another person. Christ spoke against filling your heart with anger. Christ said in Matthew 5:21-22, "You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, 'You shall not murder'; and 'whoever murders shall be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or a sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you INSULT a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, "You fool", you will be liable to the hell of fire." Ephesians 4:31-32, "Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wragling and slander, together with malice, and be KIND to one another, tenderhearted, FORGIVING one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you."
To say that life is hell is going against the very crux of my belief. I believe that God gave me life. I believe that God created the day that I am living right now. I do not believe God creates something that is horrible. My life is not bad and this isn't hell. Yes, there are parts of it that aren't pleasant, but God never, ever promised us a perfect life. Psalm 118:24 says, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it." Doesn't sound like hell to me! Yes, situations can be rough sometimes, but if you focus all your energy on everything that is wrong you lose sight of the good stuff--that our God promises us love everlasting and grace unconditionally. That is the good stuff.
You asked how to deal with the people of the world that hurt you or want to do evil to you. Didn't Christ deal with that? Matthew 5:38-39 says, "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also." One of my favorite passages in the Bible that keeps me honest is Romans 12:9-21. Verses 14-15 states, "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." Verses 19-21 is the crux of the passage. "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." No, "if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
Am I perfect? By no means. However, I lived with years with an anger issue until God revealed this to me. I went around thinking the world was horrible and life wasn't worth it. I learned differently and I am at peace now, with my past and my present. Yes, I do ignore the people that are crude to me because no one should have the right to take away my joy.

Here's your answer "Do onto others as you would have others do onto you".
If one goes through your posts they will also find you to be a liar in desperate need of psychiatric help. You claim you almost died in your mothers arms last saturday of bowel cancer. Your words are "I was gasping for air, and no I do not have asthma, it was spreading to my lungs, and I was pale as a ghost, and almost on my last legs" but yet this same day you were on Yahoo answers and in your other post under general diseases & conditions you say they have ruled out bowel cancer and many other tall tales ... you say been there, done that, sounds like you need to go there again ... get help!

There's nothing wrong with standing up for yourself and being assertive. You have to do that, or you will end up very unhappy, with people walking all over you all the time. There's a fine line between assertiveness and aggression, though, it can be easily crossed.

Consider that when you loose your temper most people think you are a boinkus-doinkus. At that moment they stop taking you seriously.
