Because He has allowed humanity to have free will; He has chosen not to control every little aspect of our lives. Yes, He could keep every child from being hurt. He could keep every human from being hurt or from hurting others. But then we would be robots.

He gives us the dignity to choose our own actions. Some people take that freedom and hurt other people. Their sin impacts others. That is grievous to G-d, but just because He has all power does not mean He will use it all the time.

G-d hates it when children are hurt. His compassion is beyond measure or imagination. He desires justice, too. He is a just Judge who will examine each person's deeds and choices. If you hurt a child on this earth, your eternity is not going to be enjoyable.

From the teachings of the Holy bible, the original disobedience of Adam and Eve, has caused mankind (the descendents) to inherit mortality, which includes bodily imperfection, illness, and decay.
God has given free-will to everyone, and suffering is part of the plan and design to test , discipline and challenge our faith in him.

In the Afterlife, those who suffered the most on earth are supposed to be rewarded and live on a paradise Earth, while the sinful, greedy, who caused bad to children will suffer remoteness from God-refered to as HELL.

It is the same as saying -to laugh last!

I agree on the free will thing God did create angels who unquestioning obey his commands and sing his praisesa nd have no concept of committing evil. But he created us differently. I also hypothesize(no proof just intuitive feeling that may not be supported by scripture) that He shields children from actually feeling any of the harm done to them, but we see their sufferring as real-like in a movie, because we need to see the consequences of such evil actions to react to it and try to enjoin good and helpful actions and forbid/discourage/punish bad/unhealthful/unkind actions in this world

I WALK: Long time - no post from you !!! Still posing the same question, I see? !!! Obviously, you made it as a child, so what gives with the question ? If you are so concerned with God allowing "children to be hurt", why don't YOU take it upon yourself, to do something to alleviate the pain?

We are given something called Free Will.

This means that if I choose to go shoot someone....that God can NOT interfere and stop me. He would be voiding my Free Will if He did so.

God cannot interfere in the execution of free will. So if anyone makes a choice to hurt a child, God cannot interfere.
At least this is my personal understanding.

What if you raised a child and made sure that in his/her whole life, they didn't get hurt? As Khalil Gibran says, suffering in our lives digs the well that fills with joy.

He is a just God and with that he has to allow the sin of mankind to run it's course. Yes, he hates sin because it is as destructive as hurting little children. He gave us many examples and ways to live our lives in the bible, so as to help us and not let sin destroy us, but most tend to not heed His warnings.

Maybe humans should take responsiblity for their own actions instead of blaming it on others or God.

If we had death penalties for crimes (child abuse, rape, murder...etc) there would be less of it happening in the world. Accidents happen, you can't expect everyone born to live long lives.
