A religon, by definition is a system of beliefs, rituauls, traditions and other definable practices all designed to bring a person closer to God. Some are not very good at all in what they teach. So how can I love somenoe who's religion I disagree with? A person should not be labled by thier religion. They should be recognised for who they are. There are some professing Christians who are narrow-minded and bigoted, others help feed the poor and homeless in soup kitchens. Some muslims are very nice people who will tell you their religion teaches peace. There are others who strap bombs to themselves. And yet these people will all cliam the same religion.

Dont judge a religion by the person. Don't judge a person by their religion. Be open minded enough to see people as they are. That is how God sees us. He knows what is in each persons heart. I am a Christian. I don't always agree with other Christians. But it is just as true that I don't always have all the answers and I don't always know if I'm right.
I've come to believe it is more important to be loving than right. It is more important to be loving than to win an argument. If I do not love, my so called religion is worthless. If you meet someone who belongs to a religon you don't approve of, give that person a chance to show you who they really are. If it turns out that person is really nice, then it should be easy to love them. If they are not easy to love, don't hold that against their religion, because somewhere there is a really nice person who belongs to it.

By the way, I love atheists, even though we don't agree.

I don't really dislike religions anymore than I dislike religious people - In all honesty, people are the ones that created religion, anyway.

But I'm not saying I dislike either of the two. The word is annoyed.

Religions are made by man. God is the creator, but how we choose to worship Him is man made in many ways. Religion itself is merely one person or one group's interpretation of God's word. The differences between religious practices have been the root of every major religions beginning. When some disagreed with one style or belief, they went to start another religion based on what they believed and on and on.....

It is the pride of men that will cause the fall of religion itself. When Jesus preached on the earth He did not speak of religious practices or how we must do things. He spoke of love. His greatest command is to Love one another as I have loved you. This means blatant sinners as well as the righteous. We are not to judge others harshly but to pray for them and help them come to an understanding of the Love that God and Jesus have for them. Those things are not religion....they are the words of Christ. It is them that we are commanded to follow. Don't worry about it if you don't like religion. Love God...Love Jesus....Love your fellow human beings....and love yourself.

athe: The key to loving "religious" people is to cultivate a relationship with God, the Father, through Jesus Christ. Remember; religion is not relationship because it is based on "conditional love" ( do's & don'ts) - not on UNconditional love. Relationship embraces who you ARE - not what you do, to be loved by God, as promoted by "religious" people.

I think it means that you should look at that particular person in a way that the person is just a normal person as any other person.
