Nowadays, its hard to even find someone to dump 12 barrels of water on the sacrifice.

Let alone, actually getting God to devour it with fire!

Seems God must of took a vacation from the miracle business. Or perhaps he went on vacation. Guess them there was the golden years. Back in his prime.

Like the country song says, back in my prime!

God told Elijah to challenge their majesties (Ahab and Jezebel) to the test of "who is God". The challenge wasn't leveled at the LORD, it was aimed at the priests of Ba'al. The REAL God would answer by fire, in the presence of hundreds of witnesses.

Guess who delivered? Hint: not Ba'al.

Why doesn't this happen today? I would think because we don't see the nation of Isreal at the same critical juncture today, as in Elijah's time. Idolatry has been nearly wiped out in the Middle East, and Christ-the fulfilment of Judaism, has already come the first time.

Miracles still happen, though. I've seen one. You just have to know where to look.

Peace.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ said not to test God. God does do miracles, I've seen them!
