They were saying that they interact with Jesus on a daily basis.

Now, I understand how reading about a person, especially a person's poetry and teachings, can make you feel that you know that person intimately.

But how can they believe that Jesus is alive and communicating with them? Isn't that a psychological neurosis?

If someone told me that Walt Whitman was alive ad that he still speaks today through prayer energy, and that this was a religion, I can see how people (being the way they are) might believe it! Especially if Walt Whitman's story was compelling and what he spoke was "great" in my estimation.

But don't these people who claim to "know" Jesus understand this? Can't they imagine that it's a simple delusion, nursed by fundamental insecurities of meaning and perpetuation?

Why do men need to believe myth?

When you become in touch with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit you turn your life over to them, only then will you understand how
a Christians hears Jesus speak to them. It is an awesome revelation to be reborn and become a beliver and learn to communicate with the Lord in your soul and very being.
You are not a beliver, so no way can you understand this, you have to go on blind faith, He does exist and HE does communicate
with His people. I hope you find HIM
soon and turn your life over to HIM, so you can experience the true love and passion Christ has for all his children. God Bless

If they know him, have them ask Him to enlighten Christianity as to what he was up to for the decades that the Catholic Church claims that the records are gone.

well, for starters, they make themselves believe that some jesus is talking to them when in fact, it was their conscience talking back

not necessarily neurosis. people just want to make hope for themselves.
