I still have this image in my head of 6 billion bacterias sitting on a grain of sand on a large beach in the pacific, wondering how the beach came to existence.

...such as speaking in tongues, baptism for the dead, the requirement for women to wear head coverings and to remain silent, the identification of the "sons of God" in Genesis 6, the necessity of poverty in order to follow Jesus (Luke 14:33), etc?

Doesn't the Holy Spirit reveal the true meaning of these passages to believers?

If so, why do sincere believers come to opposite conclusions on their own, and why aren't they able to come to agreement when they dialog with each other? Surely, Jesus is with them to guide them when two or three are gathered together in his name, isn't he, even if they misapprehended the Spirit's guidance when they were on their own?

What could possibly be worse than a long, squeaking, ripping, drawn-out poot against a hard oak pew (ha! pew. get it?) that echoes through the church during silent prayer and seems to go on forever?

...this. Every society that has ever existed and many that still do have a creation myth. Now, please have a look at some of these, they are stories from the religious texts (or oral traditions) of a 3
distinctly different groups:

Japanese Shinto creation myth: (roughly 500 years before christ)
http://creationtheologies.tripod.com/creationtheologies/id2.html

Hindu: (stories from between 1500bc and 7200bc)
http://creationtheologies.tripod.com/creationtheologies/id1.html

Australian Aboriginal: (estimated to be over 40,000 years old)

http://www.crystalinks.com/dreamtime.html

Now consider that there are these and many thousands more creation stories around the world, tell me....why is your christian myth the "truth"?

(And I don't wanna hear "Our God created their Gods")

In the Mary Magdalene account, "salvation is not something that comes from an external saviour," says King. "One has to seek salvation within." Thus, the Magdalene gospel depicts Jesus as a teacher rather than as a saviour who dies to atone for humanity's sins.

Please remember the chuch apologized in 1969 for Pope Gregory's lie."Mary's identity as a prostitute stems from Homily 33 of Pope Gregory I, delivered in the year 591... Only in 1969 did the Catholic Church officially repeal Gregory's labeling of Mary Magdalene as a whore, thereby admitting their error ."

A "fact" in science is an observation.
A "theory" in science is an explanation for observations.

A "fact" in science is a piece of data.
A current "theory" in science is an explanation of nature that has never been refuted and describes the coherent framework into which observable data fit.

Example: To explain the FACT of gravity, to understand what causes gravity to happen, a model for it is called "THEORY of Gravity." Predictions are made and every observation ever made either supports the theory or at least does not falsify it.

Christians today learn and practice what ever they happen to be taught by a paticular church. Usually the closest one to their house. Why do you people choose to follow a man in no position to determine your faith. Only you can determine that, and you can only reach it by educating yourself.

I believe in God because:

I have seen my papaw pray over a dead person, with no vital signs, and that person came back to life.

I have seen ministers pray over my granny, who had a goiter on her neck the size of a grapefruit, and it instantly went down and never returned.

I was blind as a child, and Christian ministers prayed over me, before I believed in God, and my sight was instantly given to me.

I had a car accident where the doctor's said I broke my neck, that any movement would kill me. I [rayed to God to healp me, removed the neck & head brace when my mother was out of the room, and I am alove today.

I lost my son in 1994 and was without him for years because I had no money to fight for him, I prayed and 21 years later God gave him back to me.

I prayed and God told me my son would be a minister of God, while my son was in my belly and before he was taken from me at age 3, when I reunited with him I found out my son is a minister.

I could list more...

Read AT LEAST half of the page on this link! If you truly want proof and aren't afraid of questioning your blind faith.

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/evolution-fact.html

Just incase you were to lazy to click the link, I included a very good paragraph here for ya!

Let me try to make crystal clear what is established beyond reasonable doubt, and what needs further study, about evolution. Evolution as a process that has always gone on in the history of the earth can be doubted only by those who are ignorant of the evidence or are resistant to evidence, owing to emotional blocks or to plain bigotry. By contrast, the mechanisms that bring evolution about certainly need study and clarification. There are no alternatives to evolution as history that can withstand critical examination. Yet we are constantly learning new and important facts about evolutionary mechanisms.

The bible teaches that we should repent and be baptized, what are the details? (i.e. How old should I be? Is it by immersion? Does it matter which church does it? Does the priest/minister need the authority? References would be appreciated. Thx.

Luck says "Things happen cuz I am lucky. I have magical things and can bring about my own fortune that way"

Divinity says "God is responsible for every thing that happens, good or bad"

Co-incidence says "things just happen, but I don't know why"

Consequence says "things happen cuz other things make them happen"

Astrology says "everything's gunna happen. it's in the stars"

Which do you believe?
I believe in Consequence. Things happen because things make 'em happen. God can intervine, but your choices are your own.

It's like "Where's Waldo?" for the Bible.

Ezekiel 16:49-50:
"Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy."

For any who said God would never destroy a city for being arrogant, but rather he did so because he hates gays, my question is this:

What does this Bible verse mean?

My second question is: How often have you fed the poor and needy this week?
