I know there's a Cunningham book that talks about this but I can't find it.

I'm setting up my new bedroom and I'm wondering, which way should I sleep with my head pointing? What are the pro's and con's of each direction? Does anyone know?

There's no set *should* for how you sleep. Personally I 'twirl' around in bed and sleep with my head both at east and west. Try each direction and see what works for you.

If you're drawn to a particular element then you might try sleeping with your head in that direction but remember there's no "right" way.

I personally have my bed facing south, but thats because my b/f and I both decided that if we were facing the east, the sun would be in our eyes because of the window, and south just felt comfortable to both of us.

But then, thats us. Pick a direction that makes you feel at home and comfortable. I'm sure there isn't a sleep direction police, or anything like that. If I had to pick one though, I'd say East.

Can't really help you on the pros and cons though, sorry.

I Practice Krishna Consciousness and according to the Vedas The East is the best direction for the head to point towards and south is second best. Also not under a window. Hope this helps.

there is no instantly-ahead answer. it relies upon on the trad; some position extra emphasis on factors than others. In my trad: Air is in the North Earth is in the East hearth is in the South Water is in the West. besides the undeniable fact that, my trad is in the minority. In maximum books you'll discover: Earth in the North Air in the East hearth in the South Water in the West although, someone who lives the position there's a river to their east might want to placed water in the East. The route in my trad we start up with relies upon on the time of three hundred and sixty 5 days: wintry climate the altar faces North & we start up in the north Spring the altar faces East & we start up in the East summer the altar faces South & we celeb in the South And Fall the altar faces West & we start up in the West some trads continually face East & start up in the East; some continually face North & start up in the North. For some it relies upon on the purpose of the honestly ritual. there is no universal solutions to those kinds of questions. it truly is like asking Christians how their church opens amenities-- some might want to open with a blessing, or a hymn, or a prayer.... issues will be counted no longer in reality on the denomination, yet on the particular church. this way of ingredient is versatile. ETA: the "Watchtowers" are literally not quite from Wicca; they are from Enochian magic, it truly is a heavily Judeo-Christian equipment. some Wiccans artwork with Watchtowers, some do not. i do not; not often were in a circle in which Watchtowers were invoked.

North! You rest more soundly, surrounded by Earth.

And you'll live longer that if you had your head in the South, Fire will burn you out, you won't get any sleep.

you will probably find it easier to just pick the one that feels good to you. every person is different, and thus has different needs.

what worsk for me (facing east) may not work for you. just go with what feels right to you. you will find that most books are more like a beginners guide than any sort of set in stone rules.
as you learn more you will find thast your instincts will seldom lead you wrong.

blessed be

I think this is your book.

But personally, I always like to set my bed up to take center stage, like a room within a room. I don't care about direction, even though I am Pagan.
