I've managed to combine my beliefs of Buddhism, Nihilism, and the power of positive thinking and remain happy.

I think that I'm finally enlightened. Ohh my god. Awesome.

If you had become enlightened, you wouldn't need to ask.

I would have to say if you have experienced true enlightenment then you would not need to ask others. If you cannot tell if you have made it there or not what makes you think others can for you? And if you have combined Buddhism, Nihilism and the power of positive thinking how come you state God in your enlightenment? Last time I heard, God was of none of those religions, but he may have some effect on positive thinking.

Pay no attention to the religious intolerants or naysayers! It sounds like you've got some seriously good mojo right now...go with it! I say...whatever makes you happy is good, as long as it doesn' t hurt anyone or violate the Constitution!

As for those who said you can't BE enlightened if you SAY your are: that is THEIR interpretation of Buddhism. If you asked the Dalai Lama if he's enlightened, he'd probably say yes, if you pressured him.

YOUR concept of "enlightenment" reminds me more of the movement of the 18th Century philosophers, like Voltaire. That's just as valid as the Buddhist way, and the two coexist nicely.

As for Nihilism, keep a close eye on it, since it can cause depression in some. Read "Father's and Sons" by Turgenev. It explores the effects of living Nihilism on two young men, with both sexy and tragic results.

Good luck to you!

Positive nihilism with a Buddhist slant eh? Of course true enlightenment would have you knowing if your enlightened as a side effect.

Great. Enlightenment cannot be proved by words but by deeds. All enlightened people have miraculously served humanity and left glorious traces in history.

Only you can answer that question. If you feel as though you are truly open to the possibilities of our universe and are content with the person you are. If you feel strong in your beliefs and don't question them, and if you feel that you have achieved the goals and answers that are right for you...

Then perhaps yes- you are enlightened.

Kewl, as the South Parkers' would say. If you're happy then you have certainly reached a new stage of enlightenment. Congratulations!

Not enlightened necessarily but you seem to be happy. I know many things but understand nothing. Some know nothing but understand all. They are probably more truly enlightened than I am.

As soon as one thinks they are enlightened they can be sure that they are not. A Prue enlightened soul thinks they are always fallen and humbled feeling them self lower than all others. So I guess I would say probably not or you be the judge. try Krishna consciousness, it gives one the Universal Path to enlightenment. go to harekrishnatemple.c for details Read Bhagavad Gita as it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada.

I don't know; but I feel Islam is the true way of enlightenment and am beginning to study Islamic mysticism. It's pretty cool. Peace.
