A "fact" in science is an observation.
A "theory" in science is an explanation for observations.

A "fact" in science is a piece of data.
A current "theory" in science is an explanation of nature that has never been refuted and describes the coherent framework into which observable data fit.

Example: To explain the FACT of gravity, to understand what causes gravity to happen, a model for it is called "THEORY of Gravity." Predictions are made and every observation ever made either supports the theory or at least does not falsify it.

Stacey, you definitely don't understand a bit. I'm talking about "Scientific" fact and theory.

And please read.

here's my question:

Why do you have problems understanding them?

I just post "evolution is a fact and a theory".

Stacey: Thanks for demonstrating christians don't even know what 'fact' means.

And some christians don't even believe in gravity. Look at

I think "Science is an observation" And (You can correct me if I'm wrong) Scientific data is mostly numbers. But what happens when ONE number is wrong in the data? Then it corrupts the others. Yes? And scientific data sometimes doesn't refute archaeological fact. (As far as "Dating" the artifact.) And how does science explain nature now? With all the weird weather going on?

I"m just saying that not all scientific data is correct.

a fact is a reproducable certainty
a theory is a con-colusion that accounts a methodoligy that meets most of the known observed or quantified data
data is fact and fiction ,controlled or specific ,observable or recorded phenomina
phenomina is a physical or quantative change accounted as facts that theoreticlly remains and consists of contrasictry data
well thats my answer
got no debate about gravity ,its cause is mass
whats the cause of evolution
not the theory but the facts supported by the data.

How is this a question? But I learned something from your answer; I really didn't understand the difference between a scientific fact and a scientific theory.

A creationist says: "Faith is more important than Facts." This is the equivalent of saying: "Don't take away my security blanket! I will have to face the ugly facts of life! And I have lost my critical faculty at age five and can't reason these big issues!"

It is funny that we actually understand more about how evolution works than gravity. I wonder when we are going to hear the Christians saying it isn't real either.

Fact: God exists!
Theory: He created the Earth, with intense observation, many scientists have come to this conclusion.

The End

Even with this presented to them, Creationists will still say, "a theory is just a guess" with their ears covered like a 5-year-old child.
