Gay bashing is never gonna stop until gay people recieve the same rights as everyone else in the community. And as long as christians/homophobes/republicans continue to deny us those rights, the bullying and hatred is never gonna stop. I turned on the news today and saw that 2 gay men where beat up for holding hands. Another one was killed just a few days ago. Is this what you guys want? Keeping gay people from getting married doesn't keep peace, it promotes hatred. Think about it, would black people be as widley accepted as they are today if they still had to use seperate facilities? Would women own whole entire companies if they still where unable to vote? The sooner gays are seen as equals, the sooner the bashing will stop. I can already see it's not gonna happen by the time I'm out of highschool. This is not what God wants.

Atheists are without hope, for some strange reason they are determined to convince us all (with an evangelistic fervour) that there is nothing after death. But even if they are right they will never know it, and nor will we. However, they sure will know it if they are wrong.
So Christians, that atheists are so fond of ridiculing, at least have the consolation of knowing they will be able to have the last word on the subject.
So instead of atheists writing endlessly on the subject on yahoo, all to no avail, let's have the discussion after death.

How can anyone have a positive attitude about such a no-hope philosophy as atheism?

There are a handful of denominations that strongly condemn alcohol. I know, I was raised in one that also condemned tobacco.

But, my question is, why not trans-fats? That stuff will kill you. Moderate alcohol consumption is actually good for you, but there's no amount of hydrogenated oils that's healthy!

Why isn't partially hydrogenated corn oil a mocker too?

How come whenever I try to point out weird and evil bible quotes like, Leviticus 20:9 "If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death" I get a bunch of people going "Oh, well that was Leviticus, from the old testament, it doesn't count" but when I ask you guys why you hate gay people so much I get this quote "Leviticus 18:22 You shall not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is an abominaton" so you guys just pretty much pick and choose what quotes you want to follow huh?

I am a full-time statistician. I am not religious although my wife is a deep Christian. She drags the kids and me to church every Sunday. Since I love to read, I tend to display high knowledge in my conversations. At church last Sunday I was speaking to the religious minister. We were talking about the meaning of Christmas and I was quoting scripture and telling him about the origins of Christmas. The religious minister assumed that I was Christian and because he thought I was very knowledgeable he offered me a job at the church. He told me I would only have to work on Sundays so this job won't interfere with my normal job. But I am not Christian. Therefore, if I get up and speak about the greatness of God I would not be honest with myself. I spoke with my dad and he said I should go for it because my lying to other adults, he said, was like how parents lie to their children about Santa Clause. Everyone lies.

Should I do it? It may not be honest but maybe it's good lying?

Worships the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob

Believes Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Issac, Lot, Jacob, Joseph,Job, Moses, Aaron, Ezekiel, David, Solomon,Elias, John the Baptist all to be prophets of God

Practices charity

Has Holy Scriptures that say:

In the beginning, when God created the heavens & the earth, the earth was a formless wasteland & darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light," & there was light.

Rejoice Zacharias You shall be given a son & his name shall be John who shall confirm the word of God......a prophet.

Jesus answered & said to them, Stop murmuring among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.

Which brings me to the final hint they also believe of Jesus will come again to fulfill prophecy including last judgment, resurrection of the dead, & bring the Kingdom of God to reign as Christ bringing peace.

I think I am losing it. I am lusting over my friends, and I can't seem to stop. I ask God to help, but he doesn't. I think they are great friends, and I feel guilty because I do it, but it is almost like smoking: you know it is bad for you, but you can't stop. What do I do? God won't help me, is there a way to stop lusting and get my friends back?

raised from the dead to be saved?

That this act of faith turns them from bondage of sin into Christians?

To me saved means being born of God, reborn spiritually, inheriting Christ Kingdom & everlasting life & every spiritual blessing.

I talk to a lot of people about the trinity..I find it a bit odd that most people have differant definitions for it... I just want to find out what yours is..
I am not a follower of the Trinity and hear are some reasons why
The Holy Scriptures tell us the personal name of the Father-Jehovah. They inform us that the son is Jesus Christ.. BUt nowhere in the Scriptures is a personal name applied to the holy spirit
Acts 7:55,56 reports that stephen was given a vision of heaven in which he saw Jesus standing at god right hand but he made no mention of seeing the holy spirit (see also Revelation 7:10: 22:1,3

I want to add that a person who is really seeking to know the truth about God is not going to search the Bible hoping to find a text that he can construe as fitting what he already believes. He wants to know what Gods word itself says.
It should be noted most of the texts used as"proof" of the trinity actually mention only two persons not three

Before answering this question, please check this link http://gimmetruth.wordpress.com/2006/04/27/to-beat-or-not-to-beat-is-it-really-a-question/. The Arabic word dharaba, which most translators take to mean something akin to ‘to hit,’ ‘strike,’ or ‘beat (mildly).’ Of course, none of these terms exhausts the possible meanings of dharaba. For example, in the Hans Wehr Arabic-English dictionary (A Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic), we also find that dharaba can mean ‘to turn away from,’ ‘leave,’ ‘forsake,’ ‘abandon,’ or ‘avoid.’

If it was allowed, why would Mohammad(s.a.w) tell people not to hit their wife..... And wouldn't people argue with Mohammad(s.a.w) that when Quran is telling me to hit my wife, why are you preaching not to hit.....

If it was allowed, wouldn't Mohammad(s.a.w) set an example by hitting either Khatija or Aisha to show us how to hit our wife.... Mohammad(s.a.w) didn't hit any women or children, not even slave. So this shows that he didn't respect this verse
