Gay bashing is never gonna stop until gay people recieve the same rights as everyone else in the community. And as long as christians/homophobes/republicans continue to deny us those rights, the bullying and hatred is never gonna stop. I turned on the news today and saw that 2 gay men where beat up for holding hands. Another one was killed just a few days ago. Is this what you guys want? Keeping gay people from getting married doesn't keep peace, it promotes hatred. Think about it, would black people be as widley accepted as they are today if they still had to use seperate facilities? Would women own whole entire companies if they still where unable to vote? The sooner gays are seen as equals, the sooner the bashing will stop. I can already see it's not gonna happen by the time I'm out of highschool. This is not what God wants.

In a sense you are right although there are a few minor additional points. Achieving equal rights by law does not automatically equate to freedom to hold hands in public. Yes, if the laws are providing true equality then the legal defence used by those who oppose thigns gay are gone but their personal hatreds and biases will linger. Just look at the situation with black people who are supposedly possessed of equal rights yet still face all manner of discrimination.

Wha tris really needed is true education and information on rights, diversity and other relevant topics that will show those who spout hatred that they are in fact incorrect in believing that black and gays are inferior or defective. To get the bigots to actually understand that hatred has no place in this world or any other. To preach the true gospel which neither condemns nor condones much of what some people believe it says (there is a lot fo misinterpretation of biblical passages for th esole purpose of trying to justify one's own personal and often close-minded beliefs - did you know some people actually stil believe the bible says blacks are inferior?).

Maybe the better answer is to simply round up all the bigots and extradite them to a deserted island so the rest of us can live in peace and be happy. hehe.

you need to open your eyes and see the damages done by all these that you think are progress. If you could go back a hundred years you would only want the airconditioning heat, and computers of today, you would prefer the socila economy of the past much better.

By pushing people to accept gays b4 they are ready you are going to do way more damage than you realize. You want to change things for good then organize to do good and show gays to be a positive force and in the end you will get what you need. I am an open minded person and I see my gag reflex being triggered and it makes me wish there were no Gays , for a moment. Because I believe in being passive I am not gonna hurt you physically but at the ballot box I will continue to vote against you till you people quit pushing my gag button. Keep your kissing etc. behind closed doors, or i will continue to be against you. Do not think we are gonna get used to it cuz this is not something thought out. Your behaviors are gonna cause yuou more problems than you expect. Women, and Blacks did not have this force acting against them. In fact lesbians don't either but gay men are gonna have bigger problems as they start tripping more triggers. TV is not helping your cause.

Well on one hand, God never said that being black or being female was a sin, so it was mans choice to be prejudice to blacks and women. God DID say that homosexuality is a sin, so it wont be as easy to get people who believe in God to believe it's no longer a sin.

On the other hand, I personally dont think its right to tell people how to live their lives if they arent hurting anyone. If 2 people WANT to spend their lives together and are of course, legal age, then no one should stop them. If God doesn't approve, He'll make it known. But no one should make anyone do something against their beliefs either. If a pastor still doesnt want to marry them, he shouldnt have to. But if they find one that does,.... then mind our own business.

I think you'll never be free until you don't have to worry about being persecuted by a larger heterosexual population that doesn't know your history or appreciate your struggles. I believe homosexuality is not just a reproductively useless fetish, but also an ethnic group that deserves self determination and nationlist rights.

You guys need a homeland, and nobody is going to give it to you unless you take your right by force. You need to fight for your rights against the straighties. Man, you gotta abduct a bunch of kids and make them into a rebel army. Use drugs and gayness to brainwash 'em.

Logic and basic psychology tell me that each person therefore is best served by a mother and a father. Of course these parents must themselves be good people - but the point is that the best family for children is one with a mother and father who love their children.

Homosexuality defeats this basic unit - the family - by denying its primacy regarding children, and denying the need for human attachment to a mom and a dad.

You ARE in "Religion & Spirituality". What do you expect in this section? Christianity, Judiasm and Islam ALL condemn homosexuality.

Your two examples are not valid Biblically. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that being a woman or black is a sin. It does say that about homosexuals practices.

Gays do not have any rights as far as marriage. Men and women are the only people who should be married together, that combination is the only way for us to populate and the original intention for us. Gay bashing is wrong but denying gays the right to marry is not. Homosexuality is a sinful lifestyle, we don't have to promote that kind of lifestyle with marriage rights. God wants us to love everyone no matter what. God wants us to love gays, once enough true love is given to them then they will start being healed emotionally. God bless!

first off just cause 2 gay guys got beat up did not mean that the person or people who beat them up were christians. it is not just christians who are against it. as a christian i am against the act but not the people. that is a sin just as much as looking at another women with lust while you are married. i know a lot of people and friends who are not christians who hate gay people. or say they do. and think it is sick and all. and they are not a christian. just like the beating up part is just as much a sin as being gay as well. all sin are equal in Gods eye.

if people would read a Bible rather they believe or not would know what a christian is supposed to be like. just cause some say they are does not mean they are living a christian life. and anyone can say they are a christian as well.

Sorry sweetie but I don't think that allowing gays to get married will stop the hatred and bullying. I think what this society needs is TOLERANCE to accept each other, not looking at what color, religion, nationality and even sexual orientation you are, only when we as parents start teaching our own children to be tolerant with one another...just then (I think) everything will start changing...

People fear what they do not understand. Minority groups will never gain total acceptance, and however accepting society may appear, people will always learn prejudice and hate from the previous generation.

P.S.- I, a rather militant atheist, support many republican party concepts, so please don't assume all republicans or semi-republicans are all idiotic-fundamentalist-christian-gay-bashers. Many are, but some aren't. That being said, good luck on your quest for equality. May you someday find a great deal more acceptance.
