Well here's a different answer, because it's from me :D
I believe the Old Testament is still good today, however The Law, like you cite, shows what is sin and what the punishment is for it. Both are still sins because they arent anything that was no longer nessisary after Christ came (such as temple laws, dietary and Sabbath laws which were finished upon the coming of the Messiah) The only difference now is, we are no longer to under the punishment. They are still sins, it is still not good to curse your parents, it's still not good to give in to sexual temptation, but we dont have to take anyone outside the city and stone them. The law of man can carry out any punishments made against it's own laws, but the person committing it will be forgiven by God if they repent and ask forgiveness.

I can see where you would think this is evidence of some real bunk. Actually, lets see what Lev 20:9 says in the original manuscripts:
Just like when you read a paper in English, you always need to know what the subject and object are. Same thing here. If you look closer at chapter 20, you will find that the subject here is folks who engage in witchcraft, devil worship, and molech practice. (molech is the practice of throwing your infant children into the fire as a sacrifice). What God is saying in verse 9 is that if you engage in those things, and attempt to set your spells or curses onto your christian mother or father, they won't be the ones with the curse, you will be cursed, and God will see to it personally. And, the full guilt will be upon you, not on some other satan worshipper who told you to do it - you and only you will be held responsible. In addition: (this is going to get a bit deep, so i will try to keep it brief but understandable). When it says that if you do curse your mom and dad, you will surely be put to death;
okay, I know this can be confusing, but "death" is just another of satans many names - and the manuscripts say you will surely be put in front of death. So what is that saying? That if you engage in satan worship and try to mess with your own blood parents (actually all blood relatives) then not only will God curse you, but also it is more than likely that you will also literally be standing with Satan. This is how it reads: In the end times, satan will come back first, before Jesus, but disguised as Christ, the great religious revival of all times - but its the fake, come to deceive those christians who listen to man instead of to Gods Word. If they read Gods Word, they would've known it was satan.
Okay - at that time, Satan will have set up a one world government, and will have those in front of him meaning serving him. He is not the real Christ, He is the fake, called serpent, lucifer, adversary, death......many names- So if you engage in that satan stuff, the additional punishment to you by God will be that he will give you exactly what your asking for - he'll make sure you have every opportunity to serve that Satan you are worshipping here, but for real -- and of course the punishment for
that will be that even when your flesh dies, and you are in the spirit body, you will still have a soul that has the possiblility of dying. Your eternal life will be 50/50.
As far as lev 18 - plain and simple: God made these bodies so that all you have to do is look at them and you see how the process is designed to work. It is against the law of God - whether a person agrees with it or not, thats the way it is.

I'm not one of the people quoting at you (read Leviticus 18:22 for an idea why) but that just seems to be the way religious stuff works. Why do you ask "but when I ask why you guys why you hate gay people so much..." anyway. I think it kind of goes without saying. It's the way those people were brought up.

The Old Covenant or Old Testament is the religion of Judaism. We no longer follow the Old Testament laws as Followers of Christ.
Ro 7:6 "But now we have died to those laws that bound us. God has broken their effect on us so that we are serving in a new spiritual way,"
When Christ died as the perfect sacrifice we were no longer bound by the Old Testament Laws. In fact, the New Testament directly contradicts such "evil bible quotes".
As for Christians hating gay people, that is not allowed. We are instructed to love everyone, going so far as even our enemies.
"But I tell you this: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you."

I think some Christians are afraid on people who practice sodomy but not many who hate them. I for instance think gays getting married would reduce the amount of sodomy just as it reduces hetero sexual sex.
Those who wish to ignore moral guidlines set in the OT err. If we killed those who cursed their parents then in the end we would all be better off but it takes a long look into the future to see that so we ignore it.
One thing I do hate is the proliferation of some diseases by gays who are pretending to not know what they are doing. For this they will be punished in the end because their act of disregard for the health they ruin and the innocents who get affected in the future by their acts of social irresposiblity are not going un noticed.

That's pretty much the way of Christianity. Everything in the bible is either God's absolute law, no longer applicable and open to interpretation, or simply taken on "faith."
I still wonder how they get around the opposition between Exodus 35:2 and the Sixth Commandment while eating at Village Inn on Sunday...

When will you learn?
Any verse in the bible that a Christian can use to justify their own personal prejudices is of God. If a verse proves that they do not have freewill (Romans 9:21 - 23 or Revelation 17:8) then that is ignored. If a verse proves God is a liar (Genesis 3:7 & 22) then that is not talked about!
Perhaps it is really that they know their God is make believe and that they can create their fantasy God any way they want! And if others do not accept their fantasy then they are just evil!

not quite like that. we should not curse our mothers or fathers. we should obey the ten commandmets still. laying with another man or women of same sex is also talked in the new testament. the differance is the death penalty. just like if a female was laying with another man outside her husband she was stoned. but when the new covenant took place now we are saved by the grace of God, Jesus died for our sins and we are forgiven now for any sin we do except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. no sin is greater then another sin they are all equal in Gods eye.
and i dont hate anyone i love everyone no matter what. i just dont like or agree with some things people do or there actions

If you study the word and seek the truth you will gain understanding this understanding comes from God and those who seek him will recieve the gift of faith and through this faith they will receive revelation. Many people wonder why the Bible makes no sense to them...this is the way that God reveals his truth. The law has not passed away and those who have not accepted the atonement are very much under law. Those who have accepted the atonement have by faith become new creatures and consider the sinful flesh to have been nailed to the cross with Christ and through his resurrection have become new creatures free from the penalty of law to worship God in spirit and truth. Now before I try to explain this I will explain that the law is a shadow of what was to come we no longer sacrifice animals because it was the shadow of the true atonement that God provided. Now as far as the law those who have not received the atonement will be judged according to their righteousness or lack of by the law and being as no man is perfect the wages of sin is death therfore thay are condemned in their sin. Now because all men were dead because of sin God provided his atonement through Christ that all who accept him can be new creatures. It is by faith we say we are new creatures as we are yet in our sinful flesh and have not yet died therefore we claim this by faith through the resurrection we receive this new life and are no longer sinners but new creatures. The law and the Old Testament are as valid today as they ever were and those who are under law will be judged by it is the law that condemns sinful flesh. Now as I said these who have accepted the atonement are no longer under the law as they consider their sinful flesh dead and that they are reusrrected with Christ new creatures. Now does this mean that a Christian is free to disobey the law? No we are not law breakers but have by faith been made new. So if a person claims to be a new creature and is still living in sin he is not a new creature. But a sinful man is judged according to the law and is dead in his sin. Now pertaining to the law that Christ has fufilled we are free to eat meat and we are not under the laws of cleanliness as I said these are shadows and Christ has come and we do not live as if the resurrection is to no efect. But Christians are not law breakers and do not kill or fornicate, steal and such and do not live a life of sin. Col 2 and Romans 6 will help you to understand better what it means to be born agian through faith.

The bible is subject to interpretation by all who read it. 50 people will translate the same verse at least 30 different ways.
If they read the bible, they shouldn't hate anyone and should read the bible a bit more carefully.
Beware... Holy and Hypocrite start with the same letter.
