In the Bible God is always refered to as Father. Jesus is refered to as Son. By these two statements it would seem that both God and Jesus are male.

And, as a footnote, since everything that is evil is the opposite of good, wouldn't that make the Devil a woman?

OK. Don't kill the messenger on this one. I would just like to hear what everyone thinks. Including the agnostics, athiest, and spiritual but not religious people.

I understand that they are pretty religious and strict in some aspects of their lives. But in what ways do they differ from Christians? Is it their practice or beliefs?

I've often seen on this site the claim that Darwin had some sort of "death bed conversion" at the end of his life. This is variously formulated by those who put it forward,
- that he became a Christian (a strange thing to happen as in his younger days he had actually studied to be a priest, I've yet to see any evidence that he STOPPED being a Christian)
- that he recanted Evolution or
- he realised it was "just" a theory (a bit like saying the Gettisburg Address was "just" a speech!)

Does anyone know what actually happened and, more importantly, is able to give any references to substantiate the claim?

"God gave us free will. There are 2 choices, accept that He sent His Son to die for us and rose again to show we too can defeat death (hell) or reject Him and pay the eternal consequences." ~ Answer to another question.

I couldn't have come up with a better example of an ultimatum if I tried.

"ultimatum.
Main Entry: ul·ti·ma·tum
Pronunciation: "&l-t&-'mA-t&m, -'mä-
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -tums or ul·ti·ma·ta /-t&/
Etymology: New Latin, from Medieval Latin, neuter of ultimatus final
: a final proposition, condition, or demand; especially : one whose rejection will end negotiations and cause a resort to force or other direct action" http://www.webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?sourceid=Mozilla-search&va=ultimatum

That's not free will. That's a point blank threat.

It's the equivalent of : "Do what I say or I'll hurt you!"

It seems that is a common place answer on here. That without their beliefs being enforced on everyone, suddenly rape and murder are OK.

The ultimate test of faith?

Would you convert or choose death
What would you do?
You had to choose, die quickly or convert absolutly, no faking

I have no idea what I would do isn't this a horrible situation to even think about, seriously but it could possibly happen

Also what is your current religous affiliation & 1 - 10 how strong is your faith in your beliefs?

From the religious perspective, how is it moral to enforce your beliefs on this group of people? The exercise of tyranny is not by definition moral.
