I myself am a smoker, but I put my butts inside of my cigarette box. I smoke cloves...they are brown so even if wanted to throw them on the ground, at least they'll blend in some what.

At work, during smoke breaks, I go outside and see at least 20 butts littering the ground, even though there is an ashtray close by. The only thing thing I can think of is that regular butts smell way nastier than their clove counterparts, and that keeping them in their box/pocket will make them smell awful...but it doesn't answer why they cant just walk over the 2-3 feet to throw them away.

What is the proper ettiquette? My child was in the hospital for a week and in ICU for several days. My husband missed work and of course we ate fast food every day. My husband traveled back and forth from the hospital to our home a few hours away. My sister has some inlaws that we know casually. They sent a nice card with money in it. They sent $100.00. How do I thank them? My sister said to mention the dollar amount, but is that tacky? How do you thank someone for a money gift, at a time of need? It is not a birthday or wedding gift. Is it tacky to give the amount or should it just say thanks for the generous gift?

I go to college in california, and it seems like everyone is drinking... even shyest girl in my class! I'm 19 and i've never drunk alcohol before. I've never smoked either.

The thing is that I want to make friends, and will people think i'm not cool because I refuse to drink? I'm really into bodybuilding and beer is loaded with calories. Can I still make cool friends and socialize without drinking beers?

And girls... do you find guys who don't drink unattractive?

I am invited to a 60th birthday party of someone I am very close with. Two weeks ago she was diagnosed with terminal, non-operable cancer, and probably has 2 months left, if that. Her family was planning a surprise 60th birthday party for her, and they are still having the party. Can anybody suggest any gift ideas?

According to Emily Post, the nation's foremost authority on etiquette, tipping for carryout orders is unnecessary. Restaurants determine their prices based on the cost of dining in. When you order carryout, you pay for the cost of dining in but receive none of those benefits of dining in. Do you tip at Subway; he takes your order, makes the sandwhich, bags it and rings you out. None of you tip the Subway and it's not because you aren't allowed to. Are you so afraid of getting arrested for slipping the guy 1 dollar at the register? Spare me the "Yeah but they don't even make min. wage" They would be working at McDonalds instead of they were truly that poorly compensated. They serve tables for a reason....it pays pretty well..$15-$25 per hour according to most surveys when tips are accounted for. That's a lot better than the $7hr the Subway guy gets paid. Spare me the "it's just a dollar" then give the McDonalds girl a buck when she picks up your tray and wipes your table. Hypocrisy!

I seen this question asked earlier and it got me to thinking. Why is it ok if men walk down the street topless, but it's not ok for women?

I answered on the question and then right after, a person said that they would get touched by men because they are a sex organ. How are breast a sex organ? You don't have sex with breast. Do women have sex with men's breast? I don't think so. I don't agree that men or women should allow to show their sex organs like the penis and vagina in public, but what is wrong with showing breast?

In the past, women weren't allowed to show their ankles. They were viewed how breast are today. Once women stopped covering them up, men were touching them too because they weren't use to that.

The only problem I see is at first when women start doing it in public. Soceity is not used to this, so at first like they always do, they will shun it (not like it). Women can actually get arrested for showing their breast in public.

What do you think about this?

She said it is up to the person who is making new copies to reset it. I said, she is full of it and we should reset the machine once we are through with it. Who is right and who is wrong????

Is it? If it is, it would hypocritical of people who are against stereotypes but have this belief. I was reading a question about it and just thought to myself. Is this stereotypical? I'm a guy and i'm a bit more burly than most people around here but I wouldn't usually hit a girl, or a guy. I haven't hit anyone before/yet. If I were to hit anyone. I think it's sort of okay to hit someone who was just as bulky as me or someone who really truly deserves it. Not just because he/she was snotty or annoying. I just think it's wrong to hit a girl or a guy who is sort of thin and I could really hurt bad physically with a punch. If I were to ever do that though. The person would have to truly be evil as in malevolent and would do things intending to harm. What do you think?

they act so childish to me. i can't get over how they act at lunch. i also over heard some of their "locker room" jokes and they seem so disgusting. i am not gay or anything but some of the boys are just freaks. i only know a few that are normal and don't feel the need to act "ghetto" and/or ridiculous and goofy at that point. do any of you agree?

I bought a mattress from my friend and I need it moved across town. I've hired a "man with a van" to do the moving. Basically, it's not a professional mover, but someone I found on craigslist who has a van and helps with moves on the weekend.

Anyway, there will be two men and they charge a flat fee of $75 for the move. I'm just moving a queen size mattress, nothing else, so it'll be quick and easy cash for them.

So in this situation, would you tip? Since they don't work for a company, 100% of that $75 will go into their pockets.

I received a weird text message from oversea from long-time friend which said:

"sorry, that I am sending it but I can't ignore this... 700 days passed since John Paul II went to heaven. Send it to 8 people and in 8 days angels will send you a miracle. If you don't do it, there will be 8 days of bad luck. Honor him. I am not concernet about chain... only about memory of him.. send this forward to everyone on your list. don't back up."

So far thats the weirdest message I received from a friend overseas. Of course I did not pass it on and just ignored it and I think it is very ridiculous! Giving someone ultimatum is load of crap. Anyway who would like to be honored that way?
How would you react to a friend if you got this message?

This is not my opinion, I don't care either way. However, Muhammed El Fayed is getting on my nerves seeing everything in a way that suits him.

Dodi and Di had just been in a hotel room for a long time together. I once spent a long time in a hotel room with a guy who later bought me a beautiful ring as his way of saying thank you for great sex.

So there could be another reason for the ring. When replying please remember that all I am doing is saying there are many possible reasons for the ring. Even Di's best friends are saying that "No way was it an engagement ring, that is not where Di was going." I don't know what the ring was for, but I don't think it was for engagement. What do you think it was for?

I'm the type of person who always makes sure they arrive early for something or on time. It bugs me when i go with someone who always seems to arrive late to things, and it gets on my nerves especially if it gets real constant!

So what type of person are you? are you the one who always arrives early, on time, or late for something?
