I seen this question asked earlier and it got me to thinking. Why is it ok if men walk down the street topless, but it's not ok for women?

I answered on the question and then right after, a person said that they would get touched by men because they are a sex organ. How are breast a sex organ? You don't have sex with breast. Do women have sex with men's breast? I don't think so. I don't agree that men or women should allow to show their sex organs like the penis and vagina in public, but what is wrong with showing breast?

In the past, women weren't allowed to show their ankles. They were viewed how breast are today. Once women stopped covering them up, men were touching them too because they weren't use to that.

The only problem I see is at first when women start doing it in public. Soceity is not used to this, so at first like they always do, they will shun it (not like it). Women can actually get arrested for showing their breast in public.

What do you think about this?

I think there is discrimination between women and men. Women are held to a higher standard than men. Women, cant do most things a guy can and get away with it. Women are paid 30 cents less than a man but I believe that is so because many women dont apply themselves. That is another question, and another debate. However, when it comes to breast showing, the fact that the breast are used in sexual acts is why society might make women hide them.

Historically speaking, women have been housewives, and forced as men's toys, oh and finally baby makers. I think we are going somewhere new in society, but I tend to think people are changing toward new ideas slowly. We still have old people who believe certain ways and the new generation wants to change it. So as the older people die off, new ideas are made. I wonder if it will get to the point where breast showing will be allowed in maybe the next 300 years. Maybe we will be all nudist. How exciting! Just go to the beach today and look at the undersized thongs with big rear ends. They are practically nude.

So to sum up my answer in one easy to read answer, breast are used as sex toys. Breast are shun upon by the older generations, so this is why we must keep them hidden for awhile.

P.S. Think back 300 years ago. Do a google search for 1700 clothes. Look how covered they were and think how things have changed since then. ^-^

Godlessness always results in a terrible family atmospheres whether is divorce and lasciviousness, or polygamy and wife-beating (Surah 4:34). The answer to the dilemma is not a legalistic submission to a violent cult. The answer is families individually getting back to the morality promoted in the Bible, on which the USA was founded. Morality is not something that can be governmentally mandated. It is something that a person or a family must choose for themselves. In the USA, people still have the freedom to choose their own morality. If you want to follow the Bible's wholesome principles, you're allowed to do so. If you want to be a Muslim, it's your business so long as you're not trying to blow anyone up. If you want to be promiscuous, that's your business so long as you don't force anyone else to participate with you. Your view is bigoted, hostile, and intolerant. It's one thing to have a personal view about what produces the best morality, however, that is a view that must be decided at the individual level, not mandated from an overbearing legal system. If you like the Muslim segregation/dress code/lifestyle, no body is stopping you. However, you keep the enforcement of your preferences within the confines of your own life and family.

What do I think? You have confused discrimination and segregation.

Segregation is keeping classes of people apart - by race, or gender, etc. If you went to an all-male school, it would be segregated by gender.

Discrimination is treating people differently based on some inborn fact like race, gender, orientation, hair color, etc. The examples you give all revolve around treating things differently between the genders.

Yes, if women show a breast, it is considered "indecent" in most of the US. I cannot fathom a logical reason why. But as you correctly note, what is "acceptable" in public changes over the years as society changes.
Perhaps there is the worry that female mammaries are irresistable man [or lesbian] magnets. Who knows?
I give people more credit than that, as you do.

Personally I would not wish to be walking around with my breasts exposed!
You may well have asked why men don't walk around with their lower bits exposed...the breasts have a very intimate relationship with the sexual act and therefore are considered to be sexual organs by most people.
Your comment about women being arrested would also apply to men showing their sexual organs so therefore isn't discrimination in my opinion, its just common decency.
