In a recent episode of Rules of Engagement, the episode repeatedly mentioned "Guy Code" where the guys had certain rules. Like don't tell a guy's wife that they went to a strip club, or what they did there.

It got me thinking, being a guy I know it as the situation comes up, but I've never seen it written up anywhere.

Do you know a good site where it's written up?

There's an individual that works on the same floor as I do, but I honestly can NOT figure out said person's gender. Now, don't get me wrong, people that know me also know that I do not give a damn whether I offend someone or not. But, I'd just like to... to, uh, approach this particular situation with more.... I don't know.... *tact*, I guess.

I know what I'D do, but figured I would listen (look at) [to] a few different types of solutions before proceeding, ya know.

I went to dinner the other night with a guy I am dating, the service was great and the food was good. The place was a steakhouse. Our bill came to 63.00 and he left 6.00. I was very upset about this and ended up adding 3 extra dollars to make up for it. Was his tip appropriate? I used to be a waitress so I over tip alot.

Our company throws a big sit down meal and dance afterwards for Christmas at a nearby hotel. I did the invites to all the regular employees and someone mentioned that I should have invited the temp person too (they are here 2 months and only work a few hours a day).

What do you think? I can see if it was an in office party, but this is a big money deal.

when you go out?
I work in touch with a lot of american tourists in France (so please apologize my bad english) and 9 times on 10 they don't answer me when I say "bonjour" or "au revoir" (good morning / good bye).
At the beginning I founded it awful, but now I'm used to this, but I still don't understand.
Isn't it politeness?????????
If some of you could answer in French, that would be sooooo great!!!
Thank you for giving me a lesson of civilisation...

so i work for a real estate company and lately people are just being jackasses. i JUST got off the phone with one. this guy called and said he's sitting in front of a home and wants some info on it. so i asked him for the address and i looked it up in our database and told him "that is [agent]'s listing, she's not in the office at the moment, but i can transfer you to her cell phone" and he just gets this attitude and says "tell me how much it is" and i tell him i dont have that info, all i have is who's listing it is so i can transfer people to the right agent (which is a lie, i have all the info, but its against the law for anyone without a realestate license to give out info on any home for sale, thats why we have to direct them to the agent. so the guy tells me thats the dumbest thing he's heard and he wants the main desk, i tell him i am the receptionist, thats all the info i have, he needs to talk to the agent to get details. and the guy calls me a b*tch and hangs ups! wtf?

Please give me creative ways to say that my boss is unavailable without lying. Many people know that his office is directly behind me and I can turn my chair and see if he's in the office or not. Oftentimes, he wants me to say that he's not in the office. I don't make a practice of lying and I'm not going to lie for this man just because he wants to avoid people. Which is something he also likes to do a lot of. It's ridiculous.

I work in a transporation company and i absolutelt despise when they give like a big sigh. Like saying "I guess" but with a sigh. I hope you understand.
Well we have this new employee and i told him the dispatchers are busy call back in 5 minutes. He was like "aaaaagh"
What response can I give to him next time he does that. I want a professional one, but a clear and strong one too.

Its been a month since my being at my job for a year and I have not recieved a review for a raise or to see what I am doing wrong or right. Despite the fact that I work as a receptionist at a car dealer ship I am still entitled to a raise! How do i go about by asking for this? I know I can do it but I don't want to make it seem like I think I deserve it...even though I know I do as well as the guys and people that I work with that are not my managers. The girls in the office are so clicky and it seems like they have forgotten that its been a year for me..even though on my one year I brought in begals and cookies for all the people that I work with..which is well over 100 people. Not to say that I was doing that to butter them up into giving me a better raise..its just what I do...but anyways my question is..would you bring it up to your bosses if it was a month past your one year mark?

My new colleagues loved to talk dirty and share bedroom jokes. I don't think this is appropriate behaviour especially in the office but I try to be a sport.
I wonder if this happens in your place of work and how do you handle such a situation.

We own 2 businesses. My husband's brother works for one of them. We have a secretary for them both. My husband saw that his brother charged a carton of cigarettes to an account and got all over him and questioned him about it. On another occasion, the secretary forgot to make a large deposit. In the meantime she wrote me a check. I deposited it and shortly after, it bounced and ended up costing me $500 out of my account. My husband did not tell her about my monetary loss but only told her checks bounced because she didn't make the deposit. Since then we have hired another secretary part time and my husband corrected the original secretary for studying at work when there was other work to be done. She now has had an attitude for a month because he corrected her and is jealous of the new secretary. Why would she act this way. Why would she think she should be treated special????

do you think it would be worst for three of your drunk friends to vomit in your suv in the back seat and front passenger seat and door and speakers, and you girlfriend has to clean it up but the smell stays for days after. OR for one of your "friends" to urinate in the back seat of your car a few times in one night, and take the car to get the seat steam cleaned with no lingering odor?

I have spoken with the same kids many times not to pick the oranges they are still green. And when they are orange don't just pick ,you could break the branches.Knock on my door and I will get you one.I am nice I will share but ask before picking.
I have netting over the orange tree ,they understand that I put the netting over the tree because of people picking the oranges.
Yeaterday a seven year old knocked on my door and told me that his sister just picked an orange.I told him the oranges are still green she shouldn't be picking them.Thank you for telling me.And let your mother know to.
Latter I saw the twelve year old girl and asked her if she picked an orange. She said no but her friend did .I said why they are still green.I asked if next time if she would ask her not to pick them because they are not ready.I said and it's not nice just to go in someones yard and pick things ,that is stealing.Let her know I will give her some when they are orange .But dont just take ask me.

I often walk home and from gym because i enjoy it. A couple months ago i was walking through a familiar area and some stupid teenagers yelled out from a balcony "Hey, you f**king N**ger" and through water baloons at me and chased me down the street. I am not black, i am just really tanned and i look dark. A couple weeks ago i was walking home from gym, wearing a pair of macabi shorts (a jewish sports thing i did, i'm jewish) and some guy drove out and yelled out "F**king jew" and drove away. i thought that was horrible and i didnt walk from anywhere for a long time. I was walking home from school for the first time in a while, in my school uniform ( i go to a jewish school) and a p plated drove up next to me and him and his 4 friends spat at me. i have been really shook up by these events.I just dont get what would drive someone to convay their hate like this. i am a kid, i'm 14. I just dont understand who would target me and try tell me that they hate who i am and what i believe.

I would like to know the true definition of a supervisor. I produce good numbers and when we shutdown the line for a week, I am expected to come in and clean. When I am finished with a project they give me another. This just doesn't strike me as supervisor work. I am salaried so I would guess they see this as free labor, but I find it demeaning sometimes. Also, when I do work in production on Saturdays, I am not paid for them. Does this seem right or does it seem like someone is taking advantage of circumstances.

Do you think it is in poor taste to ....

1. Chew food or gum with your mouth open?

2. Pull or sniffle with your nose instead of blowing it?

3. Lick or suck your fingers from eating any type of food?

4. Pass gas when someone else is around, even if silent?

5. Eat while talking on the phone?
