They are for the most part arrogant and possibly insecure about their professed (non)belief. They think they know something which the greatest minds throughout history have puzzled over and found no answer. You cannot know the unknowable.

It is not aggressive to ask people for facts and logic supporting their beliefs.
If there are none, and you instead feel the need to comment on the character of the questioners, maybe you should find another set of beliefs that makes more sense..

Because they're trying to get rid of religion. And well behaved atheists rarely make history. Especially on the internet.

The religious people would say it is because they lack the love you gain from religion. If you are a Christian, then the love you would feel from God.
I think people can become very afraid of the thought of God and many scientists who do not believe in God (some do) stick so firmly to their theory of evolution they are incapable of considering any other scenario.

That means you DON'T want to know, do you?
If you really wanted to know, you'd ask the people you're talking about.
If you've never seen any aggressive answers from believers, you just haven't been paying attention.
