I often walk home and from gym because i enjoy it. A couple months ago i was walking through a familiar area and some stupid teenagers yelled out from a balcony "Hey, you f**king N**ger" and through water baloons at me and chased me down the street. I am not black, i am just really tanned and i look dark. A couple weeks ago i was walking home from gym, wearing a pair of macabi shorts (a jewish sports thing i did, i'm jewish) and some guy drove out and yelled out "F**king jew" and drove away. i thought that was horrible and i didnt walk from anywhere for a long time. I was walking home from school for the first time in a while, in my school uniform ( i go to a jewish school) and a p plated drove up next to me and him and his 4 friends spat at me. i have been really shook up by these events.I just dont get what would drive someone to convay their hate like this. i am a kid, i'm 14. I just dont understand who would target me and try tell me that they hate who i am and what i believe.

They were nothing but Heathens!
I would like to apologize for them...."I am sorry you had to indure such things. And I feel sorry for them cause they don't know any better"!
Not everyone is as ignorant as people like that. They are in a class of there own! And it's pretty low....

You're a very intelligent, eloquent, reserved, humble, patient, down to earth, classy human being from the sound of it. I gathered my opinion based on the way you told your story. You were flustered and confused, but not angry and spiteful needlessly like the people who have hurt you. There for you have nothing to worry about, you are already a better person than they are. I know you probably already know this, but sometimes it's good to hear too. ☺ As far as why they did those things to you, I honestly don't know. I could tell you it was because they are angry inside, or because the have low self esteem issues. In all reality though, some people are just bad. No matter how or where they were raised, some people are just rotten. It's inevitable is seems; unfortunately. You can't get away from it but you can learn and grow from it. Maybe this is happening to you so frequently for a purpose. Who knows, you could be the next Jewish Dr. King! ☺ You will learn and grow from this and in turn grow up to be a stable well grounded experienced motivated human being. Just don't turn to the dark side and let their hate eat away at you like a cancer. Please, just be patient, and if you need to, just talk to your parents about it. They may be able to help you if not console you at the least. Well, I hope my humble opinion helps you out in some way ☺ Good luck and take care ☺

Like the others, I must apologize for the general human race and its blantant ignorance and prejudice. I don't know where you live, but there sure are a lot of people who've been brought up with no sense of racial tolerance or respect of people's differences.
Think back-- I mean, 65 years ago, Hitler was killing Jews, blacks, gypsies, homosexuals-- anything different (ironic in that he didn't fit his own Aryan Master Race profile!).
These people don't hate YOU, they hate what they think you are-- and they have, sadly, not been taught any different. I can't even imagine what thir parents think like, IF their parents bothered to teach them anything.
DO ignore the words (as someone else said, "Consider the source"...) but DON'T ignore the fact that there are several people sometimes... you could get hurt if you're alone and they aren't. Even though you're a bigger kid, try fighting off two or three hateful people-- it won't be pretty even if you come out on top.
Keep a phone with you, report this to your parents and other authorities in the area. These ARE crimes. You need to protect yourself, and you have every right to be proud of who you are-- regardless of race or creed.
Good luck, and please realize that even though there an be really dumb, ignorant, racist and horrible people in the world... that there can also be good to balance it.
God bless!

some people are hateful...others are ignorant. I think people take the first thing they can pick out on a person and when they are full of ignorance try to use it against them. If you were fat they would yell hey fatty. I really don't think it is personal, because they do not know you. You should feel sorry for people who don't have enough understanding of themselves or the world around them to know that they could not possible have anything against you because they do not know you. I would be careful out in the world....some people can actually physically harm others, so keep your eyes open. But remember these poeple have no real reason to treat you badly, and they should get help.

Sad to say, there are a lot of ignorant and foolish people in this world, whose idea of feeling powerful and big is to cause distress for others.
It may not seem like it, but they truly are the minority. In most schoolyards they are known as ordinary and typical bullies, but now they are grown up and have a car.
The only thing you can do it to ignore them, and do not let them see that their behaviour distresses or offends you. The less response they get from you the less 'kick' they get for their behaviour, which means they are less likely to do it to you again.
You sound like a strong and smart kid ~ perhaps they are also a little jealous that you are obviously a good student and a good person.
Good luck and very best wishes to you :-)

It makes me angry to be reading the likes of your experience!
In spite the modern technologies and education…a lot of humans choose to be wild animals…looking and acting like one.
I think you must start learning how to protect yourself. Martial arts and the likes.
Your Parents should be informed as they are the only ones who could protect you.
Try to talk to your school guidance and seek help and protection.
You could also try not to be alone in your walk home. Be with a friend.
Think of ways of how to look after yourself.
It would be wise to open up and blend with the now times. Be more open minded in your choices of clothes or any other that would be so identifying.
We know that there is nothing to be ashame of your faith or traditions; we are just toning it down to protect your life. Your next attacker might not just be throwing water balloons but bullets.
At 14, it is also normal to have critics but it could also be alarming. Try to ask opinions of you from honest trusted friends, relatives or teachers. Changes in your aura could help. If you are being aggravated often then it is wise to examine your weakness within and out, correct them past, and look better. It is not enough to complain.
Time flies dearest, I am sure another year and you will grow up able to protect yourself, or mature not to even give that bully a second look.
IGNORING remains your best solution to all these now and tomorrow.
Cheer up….I assure you... you will be much better than all your detractors … before the next sunrise, you will all be grown up, interested in more pleasant things in life.
Dearest dear…SMILE….be patient to say: YOU are BETTER than those assholes from hell….

I agree with all the answers but also note that in every incident there was either more than one person involved or they were in a car. These are your sick cowards who would never dare to do such ignorant things on their own. Keep your cell phone and don't hesitate to call 911 the next time it happens.

Look no farther then people that have VERY low IQ's.
If you read history there has been a long string of stupid people. They can drag you down into their gutter with them, fill you with hate, then send you away. Keep you head up! You may also want to get license numbers and report this to the police as I believe it would fall under federal hate crimes.

Unfortunately people are really, really stupid. Tv, media, and poor parenting don't help. It's very sad that these people feel so bad about themselves, that they have to try and take it out on others. Educate people around you in a kind, non confrontational way. It can't hurt, and who knows you might actually change a person's mind about something.
In the meantime, still be your good self. What goes around, comes around.

People do things like this to make themselves feel better. They are either trying to impress their friends or they have low self esteem and have to put others down to make themselves look better. When in reality it looks bad on them and gives the people they've done these things to low self esteem. Don't let it bother you unless they seem dangerous to you and could do you any harm. You may want to tell someone at your school and let your parents know too.
