I just went to make one copy of something from the copier, okay? Out comes 300 copies, I asked the person who just made the copies why she did not reset the machine? She said it is up to the person who is making new copies to reset it. I said, she is full of it and we should reset the machine once we are through with it. Who is right and who is wrong????

Okay.....It is up to the person who just used it to reset it. I worked in a contracting office so everyone used the copier over a 1,000 times a day. If you used it, you put it back the way you found it....Isn't that what you should do in any situation? Thats what we teach kids.

Well, anytime I print multiple copies, after I'm finished I always reset the machine so that the next person doesn't run into the problem you did. But, on the other hand, before I print anything, I do always check the setting myself so that I don't have multiple copies when I don't need them. So, I guess it works both ways! Either way, don't stress the small stuff. Printing 300 copies when you didn't want them certainly isn't worth starting an argument with a co-worker. If anything, you should both laugh about it. Hey, it wasn't money out of either one of your pockets, now was it?

The person who last used the machine should make sure that it is reset after their use. It is simply common courtesy to the next person. However, since everyone does not have good manners, I always make sure to press the reset button, just in case (I wouldnt necessarily need 300 copies of something).

People are not very considerate or nice. She should have changed it back. I've ran into this same thing myself and now I automatically press the reset bottom before I make copies.

Try not to sweat the small stuff :-) If it really bothers you, then put a sign by the copier reminding everyone to please reset the copier after each use, if nothing else, it would help you remember to check before you make your copies :-)

I don't know much about copier's. I just put my 10 cents no now 15 cents in and push buttons! But i was a business owner. And as they say the customer is always right! Was there a note saying that you have to refill? Anyway, i hope you didn't pay for all of those! If you did i would call the store and ask to talk to a manager if there is one, tell them what happened! Good Luck!

As a courtesy, the last person to use the copier should reset the copy count. But, it's a good habit to check it first, just to be sure.

Well, I would say always rely on yourself, because trusting everyone else to do this will never work, and one day someone will fail you and you will become upset again. These expectations are too high in a work place. Rely on yourself and check each time to set your prefferences the way you like them. Then you are always quarenteed to get the result your want. Really its not worth the blame game in the work place. You can be kind and do it for others, but part of being kind is not expecting it in return. Its likes gifts! You give a gift from your heart no expecting anything in return, even though it would be nice to get a thankyou card it shouldn't be expected.

I think that the person who uses the machine must reset it once they are finished. It is only the appropriate thing to do. You do not know if the next person wants the same amount of copies as you do.

Well it's nice when people reset it after using it but it's smart to look at what you are doing before you press anything.Even smarter if you would of pushed the stop button before all 300 copies came out.

It's up to the person who is doing the copying to check their own work, but of course it is always polite to reset!
