here's the situation
couple A goes to look at an apartment on Monday at 4:30ish
they like it, and as they're leaving, the woman showing the apartment says "well, let me know if you decide you'd like to rent it"

Noon rolls around the next day, and the couple A has desided they'd like to rent the apartment, so they call the lady.

She has already rented it out to couple B whom she showed the apartment to Tuesday morning.

While I would fully understand her wanting to rent the apartment as soon as possible (even though the current renters aren't moving out until the end of the month)
...is it wrong of me to think that she should have given couple A (which obviously includes me) at least a day to deside?

My boyfriend & I have been eating out with a friend of his who I have just met. Strange thing is, she always orders last, asks me if I am getting bread, potatoes, ect and then asks if she can have " a bite".She then orders something healthier than I am getting ....but when my food arrived, she takes the first bite every time, then wont even touch the healthy thing on her plate .She eats quite a bit of food off my plate during the meal. Whats up with that?

She mainly does it to me,not so much my hubby. I always clean my plate & am very thin. She will eat no more than half of her order. She is overweight and is trying to loose weight.

Is she just being agressive? Has anyone else ever had a dining buddy like this?

I was shopping for my moms B-Day present at Macy's. I was at the perfume counter smelling Vera Wang, Chanel, etc. The sales lady (Caucasian) asked if she could help me..I replied, "No not at this moment...Thank you!"

I turned my head and when I looked back she was still looking at me smiling. I smiled back...and she said we have sets of Mariah Carey, Sean John, and Usher cologne and perfume.

I mean just because I'm a minority I have to like urban things. I was offended and pissed off. I don't even wear that. I waited to see if any other "non-minority" customers came over to see if the sales associate would tell them the same thing. But no one didn't..so I left the store.

Should I be offended or am I over reacting?

work, you get the notion!

Please respond and share yours! Just one though!

Thanks!

OK, here is my delema, When I got married 2 years ago, my maid of honor said she had a card (with money in it) and that she had also ordered a special throw blanket, that I wanted, with our names and wedding date on it as a gift. Well, I never saw either gift. Not even an empty card. She claimed the card was lost and tried to say someone must have stolen it. I also have no clue what happened with the blanket she so called ordered for me. Now, she is getting married and I was supposed to be in her wedding but for one reason or another I am not in the wedding. Not by my choice, I was actually hurt when I found out I was not in the wedding. I was invited but I am not in the wedding party. So what do I do for her gift? Do I give her one, do I give her nothing, do I give a gift but not a money gift? I am so torn. Please help.

I'm very good at a certain subject in my school, and I'm in the top streamed class for it. When a teacher asks a question I know the answer a lot of the time, so I usually just stick my hand up and answer it. This never bothered me before [I didn't see why it should], but recently people have been coming off with quips like 'you're such a swot and you think you know everything', or 'Just because you're good at -blank- doesn't mean you're some genius.' I don't think I am, and I don't think I know everything. I've been told it could be Jealousy, but it seems arrogant to believe that. Do I come off like that anyway just for knowing the answer?

My husband started a few different companies at the beginning of the year. For one of the companies, he brought on a woman in our community who wasnt working and her husband was having a difficult time staying employed. He brought her on as an independent contractor, only to be paid if she produced. The company is no longer.

Question, he gave her a $1200 laptop to use and to either give back or pay for. She hasnt done either and we cant afford to just give it to her. She will not return any of our emails stating that we need it. The thing is, she is a neighbor and knows she'll be running into us. How would you handle this situation?

P.S. Although they are on hard times, she drives around in a new Suburban and her husband has a large Cadillac. They were also members of our $500 neighborhood pool this summer.

You know the kind, they will be your friend in as much as you connect them to other people or groups that they want to be part of who then act snobby once they've made their connections. People who name drop, brag about a new purchase, talk about people...that sort of stuff.

What do you do to deal with this type of person?

Here is the scenario. One of our best friend's husband's father has just died (or friend's father-in-law). We consider our friend's husband to be a friend of ours as well, but only know him through his marriage to our friend. We will definitely be going to the visitation, but don't know whether we should go to the funeral as well. We did not know his father well, but have met him on a number of occasions. If it was our friend's dad we would definitely be going to the funeral, but now that it is a friend's husband (who is also our friend but with less of a history) we don't know what the protocol is. Any insight would be appreciated.

They were sent an invitation with just their name, no "and guest". They replied with "2" being the number of people attending. We already invited more than capacity for the reception cite expecting some people not to come. How do I tell my friends they cannot bring a guest?

Last month we got new neighbors on our block. They live right across the street from me. First they never cut their grass so it's just growing higher and higher. They NEVER watch their kids. Everytime I try to pullout my drive way they are playing in the middle of the street or they left their bikes and toys in the street. They blast music at all kinds of hours. They have alcohol bottles on the sidewalks. They have cars parked infront of my house sometimes and yes we approached them. They even got a violation but that has changed nothing. I will not move because we own the house and the neighbor would be good if it weren't for them. What actions should I take next?

In London with all the hustle and rush, there doesn't appear to be a lot of time for manners and 'nice' behaviour. Are there any nice people left? If so give me a good example of one. Thanks

We live in a condo complex and our next door neighbors just have to listen to rave music from 11pm - 2am every night without headphones. It's loud and the bass cuts right through walls. At least twice a month, my husband and I have to kindly ask them to keep the volume down so we can get some sleep. They'd say ok and turn it down just a little, then the same thing happens a few days later. Clearly they don't jobs to go to in the morning! We have thought about calling the police, but really, what can the police do but issue a verbal warning? Should we contact our condo management office? We're getting tired of asking them to turn down the noise, and have talked with our other neighbors. They too agree that this is an issue, but since they're across the hall, the noise isn't too bad for them. We're considering leasing the condo and moving out, but it's just unfair how the rude & selfish get to do whatever they want and not be stopped or punished. What can you do?

The first time at a sleep over it weirded me out. Now, it's not real common, but if need be, we shower at the gym and don't think a thing about it. Did it affect your relationship, or was it no big deal?

I work in a popular hotel chain and what i notice is that people get snappy for trivial things that they probably would ordinarily let be if they were in a different setting. It seems like people like to see how far they can insult u just because you are standing behind a counter. They nit pick about such things like bananas not being available, when they probably dont even eat bananas on a regular basis, but just beause they are at a hotel they have to act like it just "messed" up their day. Oh, dont forget the corporate guys-they act like pigs and the women act like whores when there company sends them away on business trips. At night when they come back from getting drunk their azzes are loose and their true colors come out, but when morning comes they hold their heads up high and their azzes are tight again. So whenever i see these type of people they make me sick because i see them for who they really are.
