My boyfriend & I have been eating out with a friend of his who I have just met. Strange thing is, she always orders last, asks me if I am getting bread, potatoes, ect and then asks if she can have " a bite".She then orders something healthier than I am getting ....but when my food arrived, she takes the first bite every time, then wont even touch the healthy thing on her plate .She eats quite a bit of food off my plate during the meal. Whats up with that?

She mainly does it to me,not so much my hubby. I always clean my plate & am very thin. She will eat no more than half of her order. She is overweight and is trying to loose weight.

Is she just being agressive? Has anyone else ever had a dining buddy like this?

First, of all, this isn't a friend - she's a mooching attention hog just waiting for you to "slip up" so she can "slip in."

Time to talk to your bf about his friend and how much her nibbling off your plate annoys you. Does he really value her as a friend or is she someone who can get off the friend-train?

Assuming they were sand-box buddies and he doesn't want to ditch her, then ditch him.

With BF's understanding, you can say, "No, but you can order some for yourself if you wish - Oh Miss, could we have a menu again, please?"

OR you can say "Gosh your looks good. Would you like to trade?" Grab her plate and dig in.

OR you can be really honest and say, "Look I think sharing food off my plate is gross and makes my stomach turn. So, please don't ask me to give you a bite or eat off my plate any more."

Moocher will pout and get sullen - but that's the way it is. Since she's really your BF's friend, clear it with him (see previous talk issue) before dropping that line on her.

How odd and rude! The next time the three of you go out to eat (if there IS a next time, lol!), suggest a couple of things to her from the menu that you like. When/if she refuses, push it. Say "Oh, but it's so good! I'm sure you'll love it! Just try it!". If she still doesn't bite, suggest to her something that she's gotten from one of your orders in the past and tell her "But you loved when I ordered it last time". It'll be loud enough to tip her off, but subtle enough to be taken the right way. When her order comes around, hopefully she'll back off a bit. You could also try sitting a little further away from her so that she can't reach your food. However, if the problem persists and she doesn't get the hint, you may have to be blunt with her. Tell her that if she wants to eat out with you and your hubby, she's going to have to be a big girl and eat her own food because, honestly, this girl is being incredibly rude!
Good luck!

(Also, you called your boyfriend your hubby as well.... Which is it? LOL!)

When she asks if she can have a bite, say "No". If she wants what you have she can buy it herself. ,
