I Seperated from my fiancee in September. We had been planning a wedding for 2009. We were getting things bit by bit so we werent lumbered with the huge loans afterwards. I have given my mother the task of disposing/selling of the other items we had except my wedding dress. I love this dress it cost 1100 pound ($2500).

Do you think if I were lucky enough to find "the other one" I could wear the wedding dress I have now to my actual wedding, if and when I get married?

Not too bothered about etiquette but what do you think as a modern day society??

My Sister and best friend say Yes why not.
My mother says Well you shouldn't
Me I wouldnt want to hurt anyones feelings.

Sorry its long

Why is it that people who order food from some where are SO rude if everything isn't exactly how they want? Seriously. I have work for a pizza place for just over 4 years, I have been in management for just over 1 year. I don't understand people. They get so angry over just FOOD! Its not that big of a deal, really. Don't they realize that mistakes happen? Its like, "oh, I'm sorry, the rest of us aren't perfect, like you!" I understand that you need to treat your customers kindly, thats what makes your money, is their business. But I am sick of people thinking that they can get whatever they want by complaining, and often times lying. The more people complian, the less I want to, or am willing to help them out. Why don't people understand this?

One of my colleagues (female) has been sending pics to another colleague with micky mouse bra (the bra with micky mouse face on the both breasts). She asked if I have received it or not, I said no, then she talked to that colleague, "did you see this pic? I don't want to send the one with the big boozes (breasts) to Meg (my name) because I don't want her to be embarassed." I was so angry hearing this. Do you think this is considered as harassment?
Do you think I should talk to someone abou it? (i.e., my boss is a male).

I was standing in line at the San Francisco worker's compensation appeals board and a girl (early 20's) was in line in front of me complaining loudly to her friend about how lousy America is and how great France is.
She kept saying "The French are just so cool. They're all just so cool and smart and sexy. I wish I was in France. I want to move to France so bad."
After she said this I replied "Me too."
She turned around and smiled at me and said "You want to move to France?"
And I answered "No....I want YOU to."

Was that rude? I and several people in line thought it was pretty funny.

How do you deal with social anxiety? Sometimes when I am put on the spot, or feel uncomfortable, I begin to sweat at the forehead and armpits. I don't even know why I am so uptight sometimes, I am easy going and have a good sense of humour. Suggestions?

A relative that I'm not very close with is getting married, and I'm not going to be attending the wedding, however, if I were to send a written congratulations, what should I say? "Hi, congratulations on getting married" seems a bit lacking... by saying something along the lines of that, am I violating any major rules of etiquette?

I am thinking about starting an escort service geared towards high school and college girls that need dates to a dance or some other such event and i was just wondering if this would maybe be a good idea or if it would seem way to shady, by the way there would be no getting naked and such, and unless the girl was over 21 then there would be no alcohol involved, and I am only 20 so I dont think that I am to old for the highschool thing and not to young for the college thing, need to work fast though because in a couple years then I will only be able to do the college thing.

Okay, so I live in Chicago, and it's a blizard outside the whole of today and tomorow. I live two blocks away from my school.

I walk home w/my babysitter.

Today school WAS NOT called off. Which is ridiculous. I walked home with my babysitter, and when I got home, I couldn't feel my face because it was icey and drenched with water from the ice.

Tomorow the day is going to be the same. If school isn't called off tomorow, is it okay to not go. Obviously my mom will know. I'm 13, and do stay home alone.

My mom asked if I REALLY wanted to go to school, and I did because I thought we'd be going to see this play. But we didn't see the play.

So, is it okay not to go to school tomorow?

I walk home everyday. My mom is a doctor and doesn't have time to drive me home.

I live in a nice cul-de-sac walking distance from a lake. I love my nice and peaceful neighborhood, you rarely see neighbors but EVERYDAY I do see huge crap on my front lawn and I'm pretty disgusted about it! I've seen three dogs with tags roaming around by themselves (of course) taking dumps where ever they please! One time one of them ripped open a full trash bag I left out for the trash company to pick up and had to pick up the trash with my hands! Am I expecting too much from my neighbors, I mean this is a nice upscale neighborhood! I have a dog myself but he does his business in OUR backyard and I clean it up! I'm just getting tired of having to watch where I step when I get my mail! What can I do about this being that I have no clue who the owners are? Please help!

Does this mean anytime you visit, you can make a telephone call on their house phone without asking?

I say it means the hostess was just being polite and that in return, you should be polite and always ask if it would be ok if you made a call using their phone.

What do you think? Does it make a difference if the hostess was a friend or a relative?

Do you use the phone at someone elses place without asking first if its ok?

I have met online people using yahoo answers who think they can just bash away at others and no one will do anything. You do not know me! If I were them I would get the story straight for once in their life. Maybe you think your supream anger thing will carry you through this, again you do not know me! Someone once told me that I am playing right into what they want.
True, but someday you might wake up and your backed up against a wall? Be damn careful! What do you think?

Many of them have not responded and I think some of those may show up anyway. Would it seem desperate or naggy to call and find out exactly who plans on attending? The party is in 4 days and I need to know how much food to get.

I hired this man to work on my house last year after my husband passed away. I was always nice to him but have not encouraged him in any way. Last year, he called me once a week. The he asked me out, I was gracious but firm in my decline. I am not going to date.

Now, he will not stop calling! He has invited himself over to my house, I don't have it in me to be mean and say No!

For the last 3 days, he has called my house an average of 10 times. I have let the phone ring or answer machine pick up. I have told him we really don't have much to say or I will call him if I need anything but HE STILL CALLS!

He says he"worries about me and cares about us" and that's why he calls.I don't want to alienate him as a neighbor, because there are times that I have asked him to do things for me (clean my chimney, start a car etc.), he will not take any pay, but I usually bake something for him as payment.

I want to gently let him know that this is just way overboard. HELP!
