I mean, I was raised to be inquisitive. I thought that was what you do, you ask questions and people ask about you too. Is that what is to be expected?? Most people I have met never ask about me, or anything. . . Is that rude?

that all depends on the person you are talking to, they might be shy and dont like to ask personal questions for the fear of upsetting you.if you were brought up that way and they were not. but its not a big problem i just think you are curious and like to know what the person is about and that is good. but the other person might take more time and was mayby not raised that way. it take's time to build up a relationship. and trust .the other person will be int rested in you and if its a male. male tend to not ask woman too many question for that fear. but trust me males will get curious about you too and the questions will flow your way it just takes them longer. but dont judge them on this its not rude dont give up on whoever it is your talking about unless your sure that the friendship is going no where

Being inquisitive and interrogating someone with questions that are actually none of your business are not the same thing. Maybe the reason they dont ask you is because they cant get a word in sideways. If you are the one talking so much that nobody else can talk and asking personal questions that dont concern you, yes its very rude.

hmm..I guess not every situation needs a feedback (or rather, a follow-up question). Well, whenever you ask something, and finds answers, I guess it doesn't necessarily mean that one can expect a question in return (Which sometimes signifies that the one you asked for shows interest to you or the topic you were conversing about). Your question might not be of their interest(someone you're speaking with)that's why they don't give some follow-up question. Rather, the conversation ends up. Or maybe, that someone you're speaking with prefer to listen to you than asking / do the talking. hehe :P
But there's no need to get worried about such things, in any situation, you'll find someone whom you could effectively share questions and answers (by then, you'll be able to jive with the conversation).

Stay inquisitive! :)

Expecting people to be like yourself is unrealistic.A learned person is characterized by three words.I don't know, therefor realizes his ignorance.Ignorance is the basis of knowledge. You have that quality. If a person never asks questions about anything including other people their lives are empty.Emptiness is not rudess.

It depends the culture, it depends how personal the questions are, and how shy they are. Sometimes people who don't want to be asked anything, do not question for fear of having the same done to them.
