A tricky question, been dating for almost a year. I know she takes the red envelope - and the good luck it's supposed to bring - rather seriously, so I would not want to be way off. Not sure if it's a good reference, but she is giving her parents several hundreds USD.

How much eye contact is appropriate with strangers? What about with those who are of the opposite sex? E.g. The amount coming from the female and the male exchange? I find that sometimes if you haven't made eye contact with one of the strangers around you, sometimes they are aware of this and try to estabilish eye contact before they leave, even if you deliberately try to avoid their gaze - they get quite persistent and some do get annoyed - why is this, even if you don't know them?

we find people using and answring phones every where and anywhere /anytime though it is not an emergency.

the calls/ the ring tones/the talk etc all these at times cause a lot of inconvenience/disturbance to others though unintentionally?

shouldn't there be a regulation for 'no (mobile )phone zones ' similar to no parking zones?

Hi, I'm new at this office. On the lunch breaks I usually hang out with the other secretaries. Most of whom are already married or way older than me. In my previous workplace, the men:women ratio was 20:3 and most of us were around the same age so we hung out after hours and on holidays even.
I know there are several guys and girls from the other divisions at this workplace around my age too. But they hang out seperately and I don't know how to start mingling with these people. The girls (as competitive as girls are) seem to look at me as a threat or is it just my negativity talking? Cos I met one of them once or twice in the restroom but was too intimidated to start a conversation, she seemed unfriendly too. What should I do? Be satisfied with my condition and forget trying to make friends with them? or could you give me any good moves to start getting to know them.

Oh yeah, and what bothers me the most is that they laugh out loud in their separate room. I just wanna fit in?

I live in a condo, upstairs unit, and for the last 2-3 months, the guy below me hasn't picked up his big plant. This plant has fallen over and the pot has broke due to the extreme wind in our area. I mentioned something to him about it recently like "is that your plant" and he's like "uh yea, i gotta replant it" WELL its been like months now and its so annoying to have to walk past a broken spilled over plant every darn day... I just dont see why he can't throw away the pot and the damn plant instead of just leaving it there. What should i do, call the HOA about this or am i overreacting.

Here is your chance, Yahoo! Answers takes a dim view of insults, so just think back to that person who asked a question that needs a slam and go for it here. 2 Rules, No Racial, Religious, or sexually charged insults, everything else is fair game. Hey why not even give us the just of the question that got you going. No being nice and NO ONE REPORTS IT!!!!!!

How do i get back up, or at least deal with this without being all jelouse and crap?

And its not like im not cool, because i am, really cool. BUT its still like im her sidekick even if i am cooler than her...

Almost half of the people on my block did not shovel the 2" of snow we got last night from the sidewalk in front of their house. It took me about 2 minutes to do it myself this morning; it has frozen solid everywhere that is wasn't taken care of today. Should I:

Leave an anonymous note for each person, telling them what a bad neighbor they are?
Leave a signed note for each bad neighbor?
Leave a note, in full view of everyone who walks by, suggesting that the lazy OR infirm hire OR ask nicely a neighbor to do it for them next time?
Spend an hour doing the whole block myself next time (before it freezes solid)?
Slip on an unshoveled walk on purpose and sue the person responsible?
Ignore the issue and accept the fact that many Americans are lazy and irresponsible and selfish?

and the comment that person says to you is, "I'm laughing 'cause I've had that happen to me."
I think people like that are really insensitive and have no consideration of the one they're teasing.
I have told this person, each time, it's rude to laugh when one is serious and upset. The answer I get back is,"I'm trying to lighten the moment so you can see it isn't as big a deal as you think it is."
I still find it to be rude.

Some may think I'm whining, when in reality I deserve the same respect as I show them when they're upset. It would never occur to me to poke fun at that.

Here is the story. My brother is getting married this year, he has asked our three brothers to be in the wedding. I have not been asked to be in the bridal party by the bride to be. I say this is a breach of etiqutte that it is customary for the bride to do so. It is something I often have seen. my Dad says this must be a new "hip hop" tradition lol. Can you believe this guy?? So we are spilt me and my mom and then my dad. P.s I have decided just to discuss my feelings with my brother I no longer think I should participate in the wedding site either.

Lets say your cruising a crowded parkinglot looking for a parking space...Do you A. Park on the curb? B. Park in space towards the end of the lot? OR C. Use a handicap space even if you don't have a permit? This is a pet peeve of mine. I am curious about you.
