Sometimes when I'm having lunch with a friend at our company's cafeteria, and when we're almost done, another friend or even my boss comes down to sit with us and start eating. Since I have already finished eating, would it be rude of me to get up and leave? I really don't want to sit around watching another person eat, and it's hard to talk since I am not eating and he/she is eating and talking.

Ok, I have been more than tolerant of my upstairs neighbor's loud music and partying. But lately, I have encountered a new, more annoying problem. He and his girlfriend have a very healthy love live. As a matter of fact, Everyone in the building can hear her, and Im sure the people across the street can too! (yuck)

Anyway, I'm the unlucky sucker who lives (and sleeps) below their bedroom.

Banging on the ceiling does nothing. (As if they could hear me over her screaming)...

So then, I left him a sarcastic but friendly little note, asking him to not do that during weekdays in the middle of the night...when normal people should be sleeping...

He hasn't responded yet, but he sure gave me the look of death this afternoon. I have also alerted the land lady.

So, my question is, what would you do?

If the problem continues, what do you suggest? I am unwilling to move...I will call the police, but by the time they arrive, Im sure he will be done with his activities.

I think that a lot of people ask questions but are not considerate with those who have spent time and energy to help that person out. I think no matter how long a response is, or how many answers there are, the person asking the question is obligated to read them all before choosing the best response.

If I drop a piece of prime rib on the floor in a swanky restaraunt,
does the five second rule still apply, or should I demand an entire meal be remade for me?
Also, is it acceptable to suck up spilled wine off of my table with a straw?

Okay well I am 13 & I smoked for the first time recently. & I have smoked a couple times since. I dont think it is enjoyable what so ever. I did it socially anyway. Its not so much peir pressure, I just dont see the wrong in it because I know I am not going to get addicted. But why do some people have the urge to smoke all the time. Why is it enjoyable? Even my boyfriend smokes a lot. He usually "has to go out for a smoke" its like annoying. He said that I wouldnt understand because I only did it a few times. but someone answer me. WHAT IS SO ENJOYABLE OR ADDICTING ABOUT IT!?

My supervisor had negative perceptions about me before he started the job. I did all his work for him and he still has negative perceptions.
I did all this work for others and he doesn't acknowlege this. I won awards and he still has negative perceptions. He calls me a B behind my back for winning awards. I kept files in alphabetical order and he says they are not in alpha order even they are.
He tells people not to talk to me.

What do you think is going on?

My supervisor treats me badly. Thinks of me badly because I am too honest. I don't make rude comments about people. I do not write negative things about people.

Why I am being treated like this?

She's a good friend of 2 years. We're not very close and I'm flattered that she invited me. What should be approrporate value of wedding gift if I attend w/ a guest, without a guest, and don't attend? We're both professionals earning pretty good salary.

Btw, she is Asian and would probably accept cash gift (asian culture).

There is a girl who is soft-spoken, caring, quiet, pretty much keeps to herself, talks occasionally or just talks when spoken to. You would consider this girl a friend of the same sex. She seems nice but it's hard to get to know her. She seems really comfortable with email though and lately she has been slowly revealing more about herself when she writes to you. Yet, she still remains quiet and soft-spoken when you see her but will always greet you with a smile or a hello.

SO: Would you think it was weird that she can reveal more things in an email rather than verbally? Would you be flattered, turned off, intrigued by the emails? How would you react to her in person?

this is my pet peeve. Whenever I go out to a restaurant, the waiter constantly interupts me in the middle of my sentence then IGNORES me and speaks ONLY to my friend to ask her "how is everything?" this happened like 4 times last night.

if you are going to ask my friend how is everything, then why not ask me too? I was never greeted, never told thank you and never acknowledged. So why do they interupt me in the middle of my sentence and ignore me and expect a tip?
By the way I am asian american and the friends I eat with are white.

For instance, we just had a snow storm here in Ohio and where i live we got over a foot of snow and we had a Level 3(which means only emergancy vehicles and anyone else on the road if you absolutly have to be)....anyways...i wasn't going to be on the road unless where i work was open...*i work at a grocery store*..and some grocery stores wern't open...so i called twice and nobody answered so i just assumed we wern't opened..half an hour into what would have been my shift, they call and asked where i was. and if i was coming into work....i did go in..but i still don't get why they wouldn't answer my calls...and it wasn't like i called back right away..i called at different times before my shift...and i let it ring....

but anyways..why do employers have bad communications with employees?*this was the first time i was late for work*

Can anyone tell me why so many of us have absolutely no empathy for one another? Where has the humanity gone? I consider myself to be one of few that would actually "give the shirt off my back" just to help someone in need.
How many of you out there say fu%$ everyone else and just worry abt numero uno? (meaning you) If you don't think this way then you are like me...can you share an example of something you have done nice for someone and then ended getting screwed over in the long run for helping.? Why do BAD things happen to GOOD people? and vice versa...where's the karma?
