Approach him and have it out. For all you know this is all in your head.

It is not unusual. Most of the people around make rude comments on others, try to put others down and themselves up. Don't succumb to them. If they tell anything rude about you, oppose it strongly. Then for making a good impression you really should know how to speak and act in favour of your supervisor. (I mean you can show that you are working- there are many ways!, Note his timings and make sure you are there when your supervisor is there, If your supervisor don't like a person, pretend you also don't like that person.....!). Though it sounds cheap, i think you should do it because others are also doing the same. This world is not too just and good! I had seen people doing these kind of stuffs and the supervisors are happy with them!.

The fact is the workplace is not a democracy. You are being paid to perform some function while you are there, and thats it. Unless your comments are constructive or helpfull, its is going to get old and annoying after a while, and the squeaky wheel does not always get the oil. If you are dissatisfied with your current workplace, maybe its a good time to see what else is out there for you. Sometimes its not what you say, but how you say it, and just because your supervisor is in a mangament role, does not necessarily mean they were given the promotion based on how well they get along with others, ect. Take care.

Why is something I can't answer for you. I can tell you how to deal with it though. First of all, this is your place of employment. Treat it as such. You know what happens when you're too honest with people in your personal life. Imagine the implications at work. They give you a check every couple of weeks and you pay your bills, save, whatever. Be grateful you have a job first. Then, find a diplomatic way to answer and ask questions.

How can you say you don't write or say negative things about people? If you are honest you are stating the good and the bad...right? The problems with stating the bad stuff is that there is a good way and a bad way to say it. Many people who pride themselves in being "honest" do not also take that same pride in being gentle about the subject or about thinking about how being honest could affect someones feelings...or how important it is to be honest.
Let's face it, if for instance you are this persons secretary and you are correcting his grammer or telling him about how his punctuation is incorrect instead of retyping it and keeping your trap shut you could be not only annoying but doing yourself a disservice.

In the work place its better to listen unless you are asked for an opinion, try to be ready with a good answer in case your asked. Do not be afraid to say I do not know if you do not. Hardly anything will get you fired in the work place faster than BS.

Some times you have to bend the truth. Some people can't handle too much honesty. It's like that dress that your lady friend doesn't look too hot in but she loves it and she thinks when she has it on she should be a super model. Your honesty would shatter her.

Why? You are at work you get paid to be their and perform a duty. Do your job and be a good employee. Hopefully you do not find yourself too honest in the way of telling everyone at work what you think of them.

Some people just don't get along. Your energy just might clash with your supervisor's. Maybe look for someplace else to work.

Even though you are honest does the hearer want to hear or listen to what you have to say.
Generally speaking do not offer your thoughts or opinion unless asked to do so. That way you know the person wants to hear your point of view.

Tact is important too, because without tact people wouldn't be able to get along.
Here's a test you can use to determine whether you should say something, or whether saying it would be tactless.
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
If it isn't true, then of course you don't say it. If it's true but not necessary, then you don't say it. If it's true, and it's necessary to say it, but it isn't kind to say what you want to say, then try to find a way of saying it that is kind.
