Can anyone tell me why so many of us have absolutely no empathy for one another? Where has the humanity gone? I consider myself to be one of few that would actually "give the shirt off my back" just to help someone in need.
How many of you out there say fu%$ everyone else and just worry abt numero uno? (meaning you) If you don't think this way then you are like me...can you share an example of something you have done nice for someone and then ended getting screwed over in the long run for helping.? Why do BAD things happen to GOOD people? and vice versa...where's the karma?

I want instances where you helped someone out but by doing so it actually hurt you in the long run. I'm interested to see how many this happens to cuz it happens to me alot. Don't get me wrong I will continue to be the person I am cuz no one can break me. It's just so painful and real how many people you have always been there for will turn around and spit in ur face when u need them.

To balance out all of the good things that happen to bad people. Yin and yang baby.

It really DOESN'T pay to be good in an evil world. You actually disadvantage/disable yourself by being kind & helpful to a world that is mean & cutthroat. That's simple logic.
I don't like to hurt people either & I'm a kind person. But I'm not kind to everybody because everybody doesn't deserve kindness. I reserve my kindness for people who are truly worthy & appreciative of such things.
You must learn to be selective with your good nature if you don't want to get screwed over by the usual tide in society.
There IS no karma. You actually get further by being evil in this world because that is the natural order. Bad things happen to good people because it is a rough mathematical ratio of 2:1, 3:1 evil to good. 66% or 75% or maybe even more is weighted to Bad. It's just more of that possibility, that's why.
Being good is a REBELLION against the natural order & when you find other good people you need to support them & help them. You must join forces to continue & strengthen the rebellion.
The world would fall apart if evil gained anymore ground. You rebel to preserve yourself & your kind (the good folks). The Golden Rule stabilizes society. We are trying to even the scale to make this place work a better way.

Karma means balance, like the concept of Yin and Yang...If you are a truly good person, who does wonderful things for other people, of course you will get hurt or screwed over sometimes (for example Gandhi, Dian Fossey, my great-grandmother who was killed by a drunk driver...), that is the way of the world, always has been...I have family members who are addicts to various substances, who I have tried to help financially, emotionally, spiritually, and eventually they lied about me, stole from me, or stabbed me in the back when speaking to other family.
There is karma to that though, if you do nice things EXPECTING people to be nice back to you that will never work out for you...it sounds idealistic, but I try to be a GOOD person regardless of the behaviour of other people. It is really hard sometimes, but I figure no one can turn me into a cynic unless I let them!

Bad things happen to bad people too, that is where our lesson's are learned.
If you only experience good, then there is nothing to learn from.
I know what you are saying though, there are alot of users out there. I've had my heart broken a number of times trying to help people only to be stabbed in the back by them or pushed harder to do more..that is when you have to do YOURSELF a kindness and remove yourself from those type of people, or else you become a door-mat. There are alot of people in the world who appreciate a hand-up, don't let the other ones ruin you, or ruin it for the good ones!

It is impossible to live on this earth and escape this thing from happening to you, its just a fact of life. The key is learning who and when to help. Just because a person is in need of help of some kind, doesnt always mean you are the best one to help them, even when its on your heart to do so. We have all been burned even by helping those closest to us. The thing is most adults have gotten themselves into situations all on their own and sometimes helping them is not really helping them, they need to learn to grow up and be responsible. Its a little bit of tough love, and I know its hard sometimes to not feel sorry for so many out there. Put your heart for wanting to help others into a local volunteer charity or organization where you will know your efforts will really make a difference in people's lives. Take care

Answer this question first ... Do you wake and the morning and say to yourself , today is going to be a bad day ? Or do you say to yourself today is going to be a good day ? Put another way ,do you say everyone is out to get me cause I'm such a door mat? Or do you say everyone is is on my side cause I'm such a nice person ? Alot of times you get what you expect to get.

Bad things happen to everyone, just like good things. I would give my all for my friends and family, as I know they would for me.
I don't do things for people and worry about getting screwed over. That's something they have to deal with.

Bad things happen because that is what you focus on. Bad things happen to BAD people as well. Good things happen to GOOD people. That is LIFE. Focus on the good and you will suddenly realize that in the long run things are better.

The universe always equals out. If you keep doing all of these good things, then some bad things have to happen to equal them out.

You should ask yourself if your altruism is born out of general concern for humanity, or if you're looking to score brownie points. Bad/good things happen to bad/good people alike. Try focusing on all you have to be grateful for.
