My dear for I am still a gentleman of honour, frends say that I seem as though I've just stepped out of the 1700s.

Uh, Bohemianism rejects many traditional mores such as "chivalry", and what some might term as "honor." So, I'm not sure where you're going with this.

One one hand, you are looking for liberal artists, on the other hand, you want old-time traditionalists.

If in fact, if you are looking for true Bohemians, you need to go West, to Seattle or other places in Washington State or even Oregon or some parts of California.

There you will find people that could be considered Bohemians. But, don't expect to be showered with tradition, such as chivalry.

You will find people that appreciate beauty and love, for sure.

But, you will also find people that reject traditional notions of what those things are. And, their definition of "honor" may not be what you are referring to here.

Oh, there are a few of us around. A lot of us are in disguise, though!

As to the South being populated by gentlemen, I don't think the gentleman above means to include the Atlanta area. I find many (not all!) men in the Atlanta area to be self-centered and crude, and with little ability to groom themselves.

In all seriousness, if you thirst for chivalry, honor and nobility of spirit, try the SCA.

Now,i feel at home,a fellow bohonk (bohemian) ....to answer your question no maam, chivarly is not dead; however it is, becoming a lost art. Many women dont want assistance with doors or a tip of a cowboy hat.....Also some guys are confused by a womans self claimed title (independant);but will insist that guys kill a bug ...that dared crossed thier path.Just a thought!!

I live by my own personal code of chivalry and honor. I help the weak, when I can, and I try to be kind and helpful to the unfortunate and awkward. I try to be charitable when I can, and I feel good about helping others. Chivalry is only dead because people punish you for good deeds.

If you are looking for gentlemen and the old ways of how guys should treat women, move to the south. Here guys still open doors for women and do all the chivalrous things a man ought to do.
