Secretary is an old-fashioned word. It applied when secretaries only typed documents, handled the phone & fax, and took notes in shorthand. Nowadays, the secretary's work embraces much more than these tasks. They haveadditional responsibilities and their role is now diverse and even encompasses stress counseling, crisis management, not to mention financial matters and business laws. They manage everything from the processes by which their own tasks are performed to complex projects that were previously done by executives. They drive and shape the business and act as business partners. Moreover, they are considered as the "right hand and memory" of the boss. Usually the term which is used is Personal Assistant.
