Last night I had a birthday party for my friend. We had 3 kegs of beer and some hard liquor. We had a DJ at the party as well. We had about 60 people at our party and everybody was having fun. I spoke to my neighbors before everything to ask them permission if we can have this party. They said ok and I invited them over and if we get too loud to contact me and I will solve the situation.

So it was around 2am and I told the DJ to cut off the music and told everyone to go home. These hispanic males came to our party and I didn't invite them. They were nice to me throughout the party but then when i told them to leave they started to get rowdy. They threw beer bottles in my house and started arguing with my friends. We told them several times to leave and they wouldn't. They walked out the door and started to vandalise our vehicles with beer and bottles. They took off in their cars and came back in 3 minutes and jumped my friend. I called the police immediatly and it took them 15

I have a friend who is extremely frugal. She had a thank you note for me for a gift and rather than mail it, she dropped it off at a mutual friends house and called me and said I can pick it up. Don't you think that's a bit much? She's a really sweet girl, but my goodness! Do you agree that was rude?

Currently, I work in a very small automobile service business. My primary duties include answering phones, bookkeeping, estimating, human resources, invoicing, managing employees, marketing, purchasing, reception, sales, and scheduling. The only other employees are automobile technicians so I am solely responsible for all office tasks.
Because I am the only one available to greet customers, my office adjoins the waiting room, separated only by a long countertop. The biggest problem I have is when friendly, well-meaning customers come in for appointments talk to me constantly the entire time that their cars are being serviced. This can go on anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours each.
Most customers are aware I am a partial owner, so perhaps they figure I can't get in trouble with "the boss". Meanwhile, I am unable to make progress on any of my work. This happens every day so I end up staying hours late and/or work weekends outside of business hours just to try to catch up on paperwork.

I have a lot of people on my yahoo messenger friends list, many of which I haven't spoken in like half a year. I want to remove them, but I'd also like them to remove me from their lists. How can I phrase this nicely, so that they won't get too offended by my message? There's no point in having them on my list, even if we're both online we don't talk to eachother!

Okay so me and my boyfriend have been together for almost a year now he's 23 and i'm 20 and we love eatchother so much and both of us have issues. I suffer from depression and anxiety and he has trouble with anger management. So basically i'm sad all the time and he gets stressed and angry alot but together some how we are happy.Basically what happend is he got home late from helping a friend fix his car and i wanted to talk to him but he wanted to sleep. He gets up at 7am in the morning to go to work and at the time it was 5am. He kept getting frustrated cuz i was getting mad that he wouldnt talk to me and give me the affection that i wanted at the time. We got into an arguement and he said a badword to me so i slapped him out of anger than he slapped me back. As soon as he did it he knew he did wrong and he apologized right away. He has apologized all day and says that he still wants to be with me and says he'll even go to counseling. Should i stay with him if he goes to counseling?

A very beloved teacher of mine will be returning to work soon, and I have never been good at finding what to say. Her 12year old son passed away last week and her new-born son will be having open heart surgery in about a month. I was wondering what I could say to her, regarding my sympathies for her loss and my hopes for her other son's health to improve.

So my prom is next weekend. I'm going with my boyfriend, and he's getting me a corsage. I'm not sure exactly sure what a bouteenier is and I don't know how to pick one out. Can someone help a poor, confused girl out? I've never done this whole formal dance thing, if you can't tell.

I am going to Flordia on my spring break this year. I am 15 and I am staying with my uncle and his partner, he is gay. I have talked with them a lot on the phone and I know them pretty well, but I usually only see them once every couple of years. So when we do talk it's akward. I am a little concerened about being the only girl in a house with 2 gay men. Also they have a room mate that is an older straight male. Has anyone here been in a similair situation and does anyone have any tips on things I should or should not do while I am staying there? Don't get me wrong, I love them, I just don't want things to be akward and I don't want to look stupid.
Thanks for your help in advance.

"Hey, I just heard you talking on the phone about meeting Dick and Jane for drinks after work! I haven't seen those two in ages, maybe I'll tag along for one or two pints!"

I mean...what do you say? Especially if this person is a co-worker. Doubly tricky if they are your superior.

It is understandable that public places are public and subject to public noises. But does a silent bystander have to endure the romantic overtures of twenty somethings on the phone, or the detailed menu of sauteed shrimp marinara while waiting for a bus?
How about the lady yelling her petticoat and blouse size to the person at the other end presumably due to a bad connection, to top it off she ordered a carton of digestive pills for good measure. Then there are the braggart bosses calling their underlings on the phone and groaning and grunting with an occasional OK in between. Who the hell wants to know whats going on in other peoples lives when I have enough problems of my own (sometimes). SO TO GET even I just grab my cell phone and start yelling nonsense into it to have the other person shut up. Heres a sample ... I am talking to myself remember. OK babe I will pick up one extra large for you ... uh huh ... I know you like the smooth ones... right .. right ... well thats gross ...

I've never been the type of person who itemizes the bill when dining out with friends. Even if I've had salad and the person next to me had steak I am always more than happy to split the bill 4 ways (or however many), because it's quick, easy, and there's nothing that can kill the atmosphere quicker than hassling over the math and money. However, it does bother me when I feel a certain person consistently and knowingly takes advantage. For example when at a club and buying a huge round of shots at the bar, $5 each, everyone generally throws in $6 and forgets it. This person tosses $1 or $2 and disappears into the crowd to reappear 5 minutes later. When someone gathers it up and goes to pay the bartender it's almost always short, forcing that person to chip in the remainder. This is several times a night every time we go out. Everyone in the group feels equally ticked about it, but nobody says anything to this person. What to do? Nobody volunteers to count up the money and pay any more.

I know this sounds like a complaint, but really, I've seen it so much that I just want a sensible explanation.

I live in So. Cal. Increasingly, I've been seeing people sitting in their parked cars (in parking lots) with one or more doors wide open. Usually, there are no cars parked next to them, and it seems as if they're trying to discourage other people from parking next to them. It seems odd to me that somebody would sit in his or her car solely to prevent somebody else from parking next to them, but I have noticed something about human nature, and that's the desire to deny space to others. So that's my best theory. Someobdy once suggested that it was because of hot weather, but it's February, and I still see it all over the place.

This morning, outside of Starbucks, a woman left her SUV unattended with both the driver and passenger side doors open. It wasn't as if she forgot to close them, either, because I saw her looking out the window periodically to check. Any Ideas?

I'm not necessarily talking about a formal party you have thrown, although that applies as well I suppose. I'm more wondering how to wrap up those evenings that have become far too long and are heading towards being early mornings very soon. My place is often the location of any "after-bar/dinner/movie/etc." hanging out when it comes to my group of core friends. I'm the only one without room mates so it does make sense that we often go to my place. Honestly I love having everyone over, but after a point I'm done hanging out and inevitably others aren't. I even find it hard to avoid couch crashers on many evenings. Assuming nobody is too drunk to drive, I want everyone going home so I can go to sleep at a semi-decent hour and go about my normal routine. Normally I assert myself and kick everyone out, but I feel as if I am being rude. How could I better handle it without feeling like a bad hostess?

Sorry, weird question, but ISN'T IT SIMPLE??
All people have to do is pull a little lever and their... waste is gone and everyone's happy.

This really gets on my nerves.
Is it only me??
