So my prom is next weekend. I'm going with my boyfriend, and he's getting me a corsage. I'm not sure exactly sure what a bouteenier is and I don't know how to pick one out. Can someone help a poor, confused girl out? I've never done this whole formal dance thing, if you can't tell.

it is a single flower (rose is nice) that is prepared in a simple way (not all froofy the way corsages are) that a man can pin to his lapel for an extra nice touch. think of the way at a wedding, the groom and the groomsmen have flowers on their lapels. those are bouteeniers. You can purchase one at a florist, but you could call ahead or go in ahead of time to make sure they will have one for you. you can pick the type of flower and the color of the flower and i think even the stem wrapping. It could match his cumberbun or just be simple (like a white rose). HAVE FUN at your prom!!!

A boutonniere is basically a man's corsage...
a flower or small bouquet worn, usually by a man, in the buttonhole of a lapel.

Usually a single rose or a carnation is fine. Just go to a florist and tell them what you want. You can't go wrong with a white carnation :)

A boutonniere is a flower, usually worn by a man, in the buttonhole of the lapel of his jacket, suit, or tuxedo. Go to the florist and ask for suggestions on what flower to use for a boutonniere. Carnations, in a color that will go with your dress/gown or a simple white that goes with everything, is a popular choice and isn't too expensive. Have fun!!

A bouteenier is a flower that is pinned on a gentlemans jacket. Like at a wedding when a rose or some other flower is pinned or fitted into the button hole of a man's tuxedo. Yes you should get him one and it should coordinate with his colors (and yours) Red roses or white carnations are always classy.

a boutonniere is a small flower that is pinned to your boyfriend's suit lapel. i thought corsages were a little out of style, but if you like them, go with it. a lot of girls prefer nosegays (a wrist corsage) it's good to match his boutonniere to your flowers. for example, when my son went to his prom, he bought his gf a nosegay of red roses..then got ONE red rose with a little ribbon as his boutonniere.
have fun at the prom!
