Last night I had a birthday party for my friend. We had 3 kegs of beer and some hard liquor. We had a DJ at the party as well. We had about 60 people at our party and everybody was having fun. I spoke to my neighbors before everything to ask them permission if we can have this party. They said ok and I invited them over and if we get too loud to contact me and I will solve the situation.
So it was around 2am and I told the DJ to cut off the music and told everyone to go home. These hispanic males came to our party and I didn't invite them. They were nice to me throughout the party but then when i told them to leave they started to get rowdy. They threw beer bottles in my house and started arguing with my friends. We told them several times to leave and they wouldn't. They walked out the door and started to vandalise our vehicles with beer and bottles. They took off in their cars and came back in 3 minutes and jumped my friend. I called the police immediatly and it took them 15

minutes. We told the police what happened and paramedics patched up my friend. I told the police that we asked them nicely to leave and they started trouble. I filled out a statement along with several of my friends about the event. We were issued a city service warning because of the party even though we didn't get the party out of hand and they fight didn't happen on my property.
So I am not allowed to have another party for 90 days or else its a 1000 fine. So looks like no more birthday parties. But did i handle the situation correctly? I told them to leave immediatly and they wouldn't listen. After they left my house they started to throw beer bottles at us and our vehicles. I called the police because i felt at the time this was the correct procedure. I feel bad for my friends getting into a fight but we tried our best to handle this situation maturely.

You should have told them to leave when they showed up. Just because you were having a party did not make your home a public place.

Welcome to the new, violent America. In todays America, partying is a risque sport, you may get stabbed, shot or beat down and you dont have to be in the hood for it to happen. You have to be ready for anything all the time.
You did nothing wrong and you handled it correctly. In the future, if people are not invited make sure they leave right away, in the future if people start getting out of hand, you need to know hoe to throw a good punch and knock that phucker out! Other than that, there is nothing you could have done to prevent the situation, those guys were going to fight you guys sooner or later, you just need to be better mentally prepared for these type spontaneous situations.

Yes you did, it wasn't fair that you got treated like that by the police but there isn't really anything you can do about that. You can still have get togethers at your house as long as you keep it down to just a few people. And for the future, never let strangers into your home. Especially if they've been drinking. Even normal people who seem totally cool can get out of control in the wrong situations.

You didn't even invite them, they started throwing beer bottles and fight people and YOU get a warning? That is crazy. I say, next time you see someone at your party you didn't invite, tell them to leave right away. Don't let them stay through the whole party.

I think you handled the situation best you could at that point, but I really wouldn't have let the guys in if I hadn't invited them. You're not the local bar are you? You have a private residence, it's your party, you shouldn't allow just anyone to come in. At my place no one crossed my doorstep without being invited!

Odd that the police would issue a 90 day ban unless they had a very good reason for this.
If you felt you had done nothing wrong, you might try to appeal the ban.
Sounds like there is more to this story.

Sucks that that happened to you, but that's the risk you take when you have a party like that. Next time keep it to close friends only. But in the meantime, what happened is over and I think you handled it correctly....

I think you handled it the best you could. I also think you are a good person to have asked your neighbor and had that much respect for the people not involved. I think you did good, keep it up, you could not help that some jerks came to spoil the event.
