Heck, I thought I was looking good that day. I have no cold or illness. I was happy. Yet, someone asked me if I was feeling ok, told me I looked under the weather. Is that their polite way of saying I look like crap? Or do they really care? Or are they trying to make conversation? I myself was offended by the question. Your thoughts?

Is this unethical? What's the consequence if it didn't work out? What if you fell in love and can't hold back your feelings any longer?

When you approach people and they look at you, what do you suggest I do if I feel uncomfortable?

When there is a new co-worker/employee, who should be the first to initiate breaking the ice...the current co-workers or the newbie?

My opinion, the current co-workers. I never really questioned this untill I got my new job last November and I thought this was an interesting question.

Thanks for your input! :)

a guy at work tends to be flirty then disrecpects me but he thinks its funny, one of the things he does is that he bitches about me not bussing his tables and threatens not to tip, but i buss his tables in front of his face, then he'll be nice , say hi to me and try to get know me, then he'll make remarks and say i get offended easily and will keep going on about it, he will say things like "your sweater is ripped,do you wanna show off your nice tan", he always asks how old i am after i have told him , how should i treat this guy?

he also wanted to know my schedule at the community college i go to b/c he goes there too and he said" so when are you there so i can hide from you", that's also when he wanted to know where i was from and insisted on knowing how old i am after i've told him many times and he got concerned for me when i told him i didn't like school, why is he like this, he is engaged..

at a party, Jack, a male relative whom you see only once a year, comments: "you always look so good". Another (closer) relative Jane promptly interrupts to say "she just had a makeover" (which is totally untrue) what should you say to Jane? What should you say to Jack?

I am threw party, have sent formal invitations and only a handful people actually rsvp'd....the others didn't rsvp but some of them still showed up and some did not. Don't you think that is rude towards your host or am I being just a little too old-fashioned?

I love my apartment EXCEPT I share one bedroom wall with my older, married next door neighbors. While my other neighbor swears he has never heard noise from my apartment, the neighbors that share my bedroom wall have complained to me a couple of times.

I do run sort of odd hours (I'm a student) but I make sure not to make a lot of noise late at night. I keep my tv and stereo very low and try not speak above a conversational tone. However, apparently, this is enough to bother them.

I don't want to disturb my neighbors but I also need to be able to function at the hours I function. Is there anything I can do to cut down on how much the noise travels?

At my college, I live with this girl who I think is absolutely weird and totally disgusting. I see her all the time. Sometimes, I greet her, and she'll greet me back. But, usually, if I don't say hi to her, then she won't say hi to me.

I'm wondering if I should keep saying hi to her. I don't really like her, and I don't think that she likes me. Everytime, I speak to her, it's totally awkward and she's totally disgusting.

I understand tipping a waiter their salary is just ridiculous. I understand the barber and maybe a cab driver. But people want you to tip the garbage man who makes like 14 to 16 an hr yes his job stinks but it is his job. The post man or UPS/FED EX driver they make a lot of money also with good benefits. If you live in a building with a door man I had one door man that made as much as me HELL no I am not giving him a tip. Full service gas station attendant again they make at least if not more than minimum wage and it is their job. I don’t get tipped for turning in a report early or on time. It is what I get paid to do. Why do people feel you need to tip everyone? I would go broke if I tipped everyone they say you are supposed to tip

I used to work retail. As anyone who has ever worked in that field (or similar field) can tell you, customers are not that easy to deal with sometimes. You get some that you wish would just go away---or fall over dead, ha! (tongue-in-cheek).

I don't mean to generalize, but it always seemed to me that the customers who were the hardest to deal with were either (1) old men or (2) women between 35 and 50. Now, don't get me wrong, I did have bad customers from other groups as well; and there were also gracious people from these two groups. But these seemed to stand out the most. And again, I am certainly not trying to generalize.

Has anyone else in a service job noticed this?
