I think it is unclear but I would take it as a compliment, say ".thank you," and see what develops. I can't see that what one individual thinks about your face matters. You might ask "In what way." if you found this person at all interesting yourself. Remember that we are all very fragile human being trying to stumble our way through this life the best way we can, with as little pain as possible. What we really want is appreciation.

I take it to mean just that... you have an interesting face. Perhaps your a non traditional beauty... I would put Sandra Oh ( from Gray’s Anatomy the TV show) in that category. It means your face is interesting ,different and worthy of further study.
Is you ethnicity ambiguous? Perhaps the person was trying to figure out your background. Don't assume they were insulting you.

First breach of etiquette, you ASKED how about my face. That could be considered as fishing for a compliment and therefore deserved the impolite reply of interesting (most men do NOT like girls that fish for compliments).

that could mean lots of thing. for me an interesting face is something i really like . i cant discribe an interesting face really but if you were to look up deanne bray fbeyed or just denane bray you would see a pic of her i think she has about the most interesting face and is a ten. so see what i mean.
i have a brother that has a non discript face . i often see men who i think are him he just has that look. so who knows.
