Ok my little brother Mohamed is 17 years old and he is driving down to Mexico with his friend's family. Even though he is Arab he has really blonde hair and blue eyes and really fair skin. Could this make him a target for kidnappers? I heard that there are kidnappers who go for the white kids because they think they are rich or something. Is anyone here from Mexico or have been to Mexico??? If so, could you tell me if he would be alright (I heard Tijauna is really crazy like this) or is there a chance he will be kidnapped? Hurry tell me because I might need to call him and make sure he keeps away from Mexico. BTW am his older sister and our parents are back in the Middle East and I'm the only one in Canada here.

Is it normal to feel uncomfortable eating around other people as I find it impossiblt to eat when there are other people around, it even annoys me when my family are sitting at the table eating at the same time as me.

When you write out an obituary, how is the polite way to ask in lieu of flowers, could you donate to my daughter?

Another shopper and I accidentally bumped into each other in a very crowded mall (Xmas shopping) and I of course apologized. The response fom this elderly lady was "You a**hole". After that her adult son started threatening and abusing me - I was with my 8 year old daughter who was very upset by this. Where has common courtesy gone? Why is an apology not enough for some people? I always try and be polite, but get frustrated at the attitude of others. (Spleen vented - Merry Xmas all!)

We have been traditionally invited over to a friend's place for dessert on Christmas eve. This year too we shall be enjoying their hospitality and exchanging gifts on this occasion.

This Saturday my 5 year old daughter's friend and her family are coming over for dinner at our place. I would like to ask my daughter's 6 six year old friend to stay overnight with us so that the girls can have fun.

However, if she stays over, we would have to take her along with us to our friend's house on Christmas eve. I do not have a problem with that but my husband feels that's not appropriate as the host might feel obligated to give a gift to my daughter's friend as well.

What is everyone's vote?

I've gone to places to eat, and people leave their crud on the table. I get some wet paper towels and start cleaning it up. Especially in the women's restroom the women are so slovenly! At times I am so disgusted that I start throwing the paper towels away and wipe down the counters. What do you do?

e.g. I put some rubbish out, he's there. I walk the dog he's there, I do the garden he's there.
I thought that I was imagining it at first, but other people noticed too.
Does any one have any polite or even unpolite ways to persuade him to find a new hobby before I kill him and his mad wife. I'm prepared to break the law or hurt him so long as he gets the message.

She got another job offer just two days before the new job starts.and now she insists on accepting the offer from the second company because it pays a little more. I cannot seem to make her understand it's bad to bail out of an already accepted job. Am I being unreasonable? What are the potential consequences besides possibly burning a future bridge with an HR manager who might matter later? If I still can't talk her out of it based on your answers, what is the best way for her to back out of the first job?
Thank you!

We received a gift of a free dinner at a very expensive restaurant, Morton's Steakhouse, from someone we never met. My new husbands brother in laws mother works for the owner of the restaurant and she set it up for us. I am trying to write the thank you card but am at a loss of words. I have, so far:

We wanted to thank you very much for our dinner at Morton's in San Diego. It was a great meal and a unique experience. You helped make our honeymoon a memorable time.

Please help me finish it.

I belong to a message board where used things are recycled to other members for free. When people post items and write things like "All items must go together" when they're unlikely to appeal to the same person (who now has to get rid of the unwanted items), and "I need this gone NOW", or "Check your email often to see if you've been chosen", and that sort of thing, do you just delete the message or do you sometimes write back to them to let them know rude, angry, manipulative, etc. they came across in their email? If people want their stuff gone immediately, I think they should get in their car and take the items to a recycle repository in their neighborhood instead of trying to control the people who might want the items. Where do you folks at Answers stand on this?

The person I share an office with loves to sing but she is completely tone deaf! Not only that but if we are listening to music she will start singing a totally different song! We get along very well, and I don't see that she's doing this to purposely irritate me but I am losing my mind! I'm willing to not have any music on in the office to avoid her singing with it or over it, but even w/o music she sings and she can never find the right key!
I don't want to hurt her feelings.
I actually like when people are comfortable about singing aloud so it's not just a pet peeve. I used to work with another woman many years ago who liked singing or huming quietly so normally this doesn't bother me.
Any suggestions?

This just happened. I saw 15-20 cars pass this woman as she waved for help before I was able to get to her. The majority of the drivers that passed her were men. I couldn't believe it. She was heavy and unattractive, do you think someone would have stopped faster if she was thin and cute?
