Its a scots song, and the scots don't wear underwear, so isn't it logical to go commando when singing that Auld Guid Scots Shantee?

I am going to a new years party tonight and I don't really know alot of people. What should I do to feel more comfortable around all of these people I don't know? What should I do if I don't know what to say or have nothing to do, with out looking rude?

I recently took a friend out for lunch as she is moving away to start law school. We went to a small local restaurant where I had never been to before but my friend had.

I'm slender by body type as well as female and can't really gain weight--believe me I've tried. Anyway, I decided to have a steak as the food was Italian and I'm not really a big fan. I also just like steak.

The food was okay--and I finished most of it. My friend and I split a dessert and while we were waiting for the check a waitress (not ours) commented "You have a really great appetite!" I sort of nodded and smiled, but she didn't really leave until I said thank you.

My friend was rather weirded out and after reflection, so was I. What do you think might have been a more approrpiate way to handle that? I actually don't really intend on going back--the food wasn't worth the price and the our waitress was only so so anyway.

If so, how do you tell them?
Do you walk behind them until they fix it or get somewhere to fix it?

1. Do you wash your hair before you go to the salon?

2. Do you clean your house (not completely, just picking up a little) before the maid comes?

I see girls kissing other girls in clubs or MTV or wherever and they think it's ok. Yeah they claim they are using to get attentions but heck isn't that a convenient excuse to do lezbo things. You don't see guys doing sleazy things to get attentions. So are girls sleazier than men in general?

I never know what to say at funerals.
Is a hug and an 'I'm so sorry' really enough?

Personally if I was going to a street party I'd like to go on a July Afternoon, not midnight in December/January. What is the point, it all seems a bit of a hoo ha for nothing to me. I'm going for a beer then off to bed.

We are a young couple and have lived in our home for about four years. We have only recently become acquianted with our neighbor as he has helped my husband repair a broken axel in our truck. Not only has the neighbor provided his help, he has also loaned us tools and even a few parts! I feel like we need to do something to say thank you, but what are my options. We would have them over for dinner, but he has a large family, and I feel like him being older, we don't have much in common. What would I talk about? We would give a gift, but what is appropriate and in our price range. Keep in mind we are a young couple and money is tight. A card, however, feels stupid, and like not enough. Please help me with any ideas for what would be the thing to do! Thank you!

That is...without guns and without fireworks.... Our next door neighbor has spread some lies around our street about our family and we really want to make some noise on that side of our house. I know that sounds bad but time to get even sometimes! Maybe you have some other crazy idea you'd like to share. (We don't live within the city limits, so that is kind of a good thing as far as laws and rules go.)

(Yes I am a woman, I know the avatar shadow is a guy for some reason). This morning (and for the past several Sunday mornings) my husband has paired brown western boots with black jeans and I was informed growing up that a person does not wear brown shoes with black pants. I want to say something about it but I am afraid my husband will blow it out of proportion and think I am being cruel (which I am not, after all he has no problem telling me when I am wearing something he doesn't like). I know this is not a huge deal but I am wondering what some answers might be from men out there.

She is always late and gives no real excuse, as long as her bf is present that is the only person she talks to, never invites us over after shes been invited to our houses numerous times, never asks us to hang out or even calls us back, shes a big cheapskate (always orders cheapest thing on menu -with no drinks or anything else, kind of brags about her job, won't admit shes wrong, and shes never open to something different ..things always have to be her way. Would you still be friends with this person

find her sexually desireable.....after all, isnt this the main reason that "bad boys" have more partners: the fact that they are prepared to make it clear, but in a charming innofensive way?
