Not having anything planned for New Year's Eve, my fiancee and I decided to invite several of our friends over to our apartment. Unbeknownst to any of us, at the same time some of our common friends had planned a New Year's Eve bash at their place, but neglected to mention anything. Instead, they had already sent out invitations by mail which had not yet arrived. We found out about the conflict a couple of days later when we invited those friends to our party (the letters arrived that day, too).

Most friends we have in common, though there are some exceptions... who now plan on coming to my place on New Years, so I'd feel weird about cancelling my get-together in order to go to a different party. At the same time, it feels weird to have a party scheduled opposite friends of mine, and it feels weird to put our common friends in the position of having to choose one over the other.

What's the right thing to do, here, and how can this kind of situation best be avoided in the future?

Someone at work takes the trouble to paste his boggeys on the wall of the gents toilet, while he's on the pan obviously. We don't know who has this disgusting habit.Inspite of the notice to whoever it is to stop and dispose of their boggey in a hygenic and normal manner,it has continued and the office manager seems to have given up trying to appeal to this persons common sense.I as well as many others are sick to death with this filthy habit .What can one do to make this person stop?I need an urgent answer.

With or in place of the wedding band?
Where does the engagement ring go then? Keep it?

I mean besides having vitamins and a stupid name. My friend gave me a jar to try. It wasn't exactly a Christmas present, but part of it. I like to be very polite about gifts and make positive comments. I just don't know what to say because it doesn't really have any flavour!

...okay. Everyone knows that if you find a penny heads up, you pocket it, right?? Well. What if you find the penny heads DOWN? You can't leave it, it would always just stay heads down. Do you pick it up and toss it behind you, not glancing back? Or pick it up and give it to someone?? Does anyone KNOW?

I used to get called ugly all the time when I was younger and now that I grew up, I'm suddenly getting called pretty by quite a few people. When I go out to shop or something, a lot of guys stare and a few have even walked up and started hitting on me.

The bad thing is, most girls that see me automatically assume I'm a really mean person and say hurtful things as I walk by. Things like 'I bet she had sex with her dad to get that top' or something to that affect. I don't mean to sound full of myself, but I can tell they're jealious, since most of them are total heifers.

But what I want to know, how hard is it to be considered 'pretty' and still keep your values?

This past summer I was at an amusement park, and these two guys cruised ahead of me and several other people in line.

The only people who said anything were two middle school-aged girls standing behind me. I thought that was kind of funny.

The two guys didn't even look back either, btw.

In my spare time like on weekends when im not working, i do a fair amount of socialising, meeting loads of different people from different places, a conversation might start up while for example, standing in a que to get into a pub, i like to talk rubbish. Getting quite good at it too. It amuses some people no end. Some find it extremely funny, others think im a bit odd and its these reactions i see in people i find currious and so continue to talk complete nonsense like in beep-bop-a-lula, or was it wap-baba-luba, you get me in-it. So i wanted to know was there a name to call this hobby of mine, dont you know. Quick tell me before i go bonkers like..

My wealthy in-laws always get me "TJ Maxx" clothes in the wrong size and cheap housewares for Christmas. My sister-in-law, their daughter, always regifts me her employer's Holiday gift, as evidenced by the company name on the items (My brother works for the same company, and he has received the same items). I always buy them something nice; this year monogrammed fleece robes from LLBean wrapped in LLBean totebags with their names personalizing the bags. I know it should be the thought that counts, but I can't help thinking they are lacking in good thoughts about me.

What has happened to proper etiquette when we use messenger, email, text messaging? Learn how to spell and respect each other. Am I the only one who notices a trend of laziness, it seems we shortcut so much we have lost the ability to even communicate any more. Respect is an action, not just a word

I believe that like many things being a good person is a case of oppotunity.

Being good is like being a being an astronomer. You may be good at it, but that a waste of time if you have a cloudy night.
Just like knowing how to be a good person is a waste of time if everything you do does more damage, is not possible because of unusual circumstances, or is not feasable because of the consequences.

What we need to know now is not so much, how to be good, but how to make it work.

I really don't want to be told, I am trying my best; I know that because I am shattered.

Any suggestion on what I should do?

Normally I wouldn't mind but He has tons and tons of junk mail and deletes it all into my computer. I don't know much about computers except that someone told me that nothing ever really gets deleted, that everything gets put into a junk file that takes up space. Is this true? Could his junk mail harm my computer in any way? I feel very uncomfortable about it and have told him several times to pay his bill. He let me use his computer when I didn't have one, so now I feel obligated to let him use mine.
