It makes me more angry than sad because all those things are preventable with a better and less repressive educational system.

Sometimes, There are many things that you can get wrapped around the axle on. If it feels like the world (or your world) is coming to an end, remember that your parents and their parents and even their parents felt the same way at some point. Everyone feels this way at some point when they are feeling really small in a huge and crazy world. But its always been this way. The more things change the more they stay the same.

On the other hand, you are also not looking at everything. There is a lot of good things going on too. Don't forget to take in some of them to balance the depressing things. Take a deep breath and relax a bit. It will begin to look better or at least more balanced.

You obviously care allot and that means allot in this world. You have more power than you think.

Take care

Yes the world is not perfect, but it is not the first time in history that these things have happened, what I think is because of the internet, the cable, we see and hear more than we ever have before, waking up to see Sadam being led to the gallows, this morning...... not that he didn't deserve it but....try reading some ancient history books, it will knock you out to find out how brutal the world was then.Try and see the good in people around you and not to dwell on the sad and bad....life is too short, fix what you can and move on

No, it depends on the perspective you choose to have. My grandparents were very young when they married and started a family. So were their parents. The illiteracy rate was much higher 100 years ago than it is now. We're improving overall. Many STD's were once deadly but we found treatments and cures and we're making progress on our current ones. People of all incomes pass away....but things like polio and the plague are no longer fears we have to live with. True, that 2900 US troops have lost their lives in this war and occupation but when compared to other wars or the holocaust, it is better. No loss of life is good, but things are getting better. Patience, we'll get there.

When compared to my grandparents' generation, I feel very fortunate. They lived through the depression on food that they hunted and raised four boys without running water. When my father got spinal meningitis when he was 7 years old (like many children) they were all grateful that he only lost his sight and was not paralyzed. There wasn't any public healthcare and they could only afford to take him to the doctor twice.

I was raised to look at the positive and to be grateful for what I have. And there is so much positive in the world if one looks for it and expects to find it.

I totaly agree with you. Kids now a days don't seem to know the difference from right and wrong. It is real sad. It's like the world is so corrupted. That it is in despair, because of the people in it. Our planet is a true and living thing. It feels, it mourns, it is slowly dying. Because of all the horrors that go on.

Yes. I think premarital sex in general is unethical, unpractical and just plain disgusting. It both directly and indirectly hurts people-face it and grow up. You think the STD epidemic and broken homes would've woken people up...but NOOOO. And so many poor people are dying because of overpopulation, globalization/free trade...people can't make a decent living and sell their crops anymore because of the mass-produced junk. There's more than enough food in this world to feed everyone, the problem is not everyone can afford it. And don't get me started on the raping of the planet.

society is a product of us just as much as we are a product of it. There is no need to get sad over it. It is also a very beautiful place where glorious things constantly happen. You are wise to concern yourself with these issues because they require attention. I word of caution though. Don't focus too much on the negative. If you attach yourself to bad things then they will harm you. Just be the best person you can be and that will be as much as you can do. Any other efforts will be counter productive.

Have a happy holiday.

That's a lot of information to address in one answer...

The world definitely is not perfect, but there are people out there who are trying to stop illiteracy, educate people about and prevent the spread of STDs, and help the poor. Not everyone is so evil and immoral.

I agree as the world goes on society gets worse. I also hate in society how people are judged on there quality of work on whether they have a piece of paper saying they went to college or not. But this is our world, we have to live in it. We will all be in a better place one day (well most of us that is)
