You need to tell her. There may have been a flaw in the chain that wasn't visible. If it can be repaired great...if it can't then she can get a replacement but you nee to let her know. Some stores have a short return period even for defective merchandise.
By the way, take your jewelry off before showering and don't wear it to bed. This can cause crimps in a chain and damage your jewelry.

Little Darlin'
She's gonna notice---it was her Christmas gift to you
She's gonna notice---real quick--believe me here !!
Let her know immediately---and---besides-- it is possible that it can be repaired-- most jewelry shops definately service what they sell -- and usually a simple break can be put back like new really quick---so-- honesty IS the best policy here-- tell her--get it repaired -- and the whole thing goes away in no time !!!!

Honesty is the best policy. The truth will always prevails. She find out some day. Tell her, especially when the damage was accidentally and not done on purpose. Maybe she can get it changed or repaired.

I think that if you explained to your mom what happened things may not go as bad. Telling her would be the best thing to do. I mean she is your mom, so don't you owe it to her. Plus she probably put some effort into buying it, just to make sure you wore it.

telling her that it broke would be a lot better than her thinking you don't like it because you're not wearing it. i'm sure if she finds out that it has broken, she will want to have it fixed or replaced for you

I would tell her, so she can take it back and exchange it for another one. Hopefully one that is a little sturdier.
If your mom is really sensitive, make sure you make a big fuss over how much you really liked that one, and are disappointed it broke.

Tell her so she knows, then just replace the chain if possible. If you stop wearing it without telling her, she may think that you don't like it anymore.

Tell her-she might be able to take it back to the store for a new one.

It's not a big deal. Accidents happen sometimes, and jewelry breaks sometimes. If you ask your mom to help you get it fixed she'll realize that you like it.

Tell her as soon as possible. She probably will be disappointed that it broke, but at least you can either get it fixed or get another one.
